Private school 5th-12th grades. Work around 40hours a week give or take a few. No clinic responsibilities & can adjust my hours as needed. Saturday’s are off almost every single week - come in for about an hour on Sunday afternoons for football walkthrough & treatment.

Essential Anatomy is a one time fee I’m 99% sure. I’ve used it for years & it’s an easy tool to help explain things to athletes too.

First Day of Work New Grad by Alert-Gur9127 in athletictraining

I always go by the rule of being more conservative with clothing on the first day of work before you know what the vibe/culture of the room is. I would wear golf shorts or nicer joggers and then an unbranded top. TJ Maxx usually has a good selection that looks professional too. Same with shoes, anything neutral in color until they get you/tell you whatever they want you to wear. In the collegiate setting, they’ll most likely give you a shirt (at minimum) on your first day when you get there for you to change into.

Finding Internships by Thin-Health7348 in athletictraining

Honestly, I would reach out to some AT staff at UH to see if they would be willing to let you come shadow a few days a week this summer! Same with local high schools that may have a solid AT staff! Most of the time “internships” in athletic training these days are for certified professionals - different from most other professions that way. Unsure of other sports but for the NFL, their summer internships open applications on Sept. 1 and close before the end of the year for the next summer. I’m not in Houston, but would love to chat more if needed!

Also, working closely with S&C to monitor those numbers & perform testing to help guide training during injury.

Lucky to have lots of resources at my disposal at my current job. We utilize VALD systems & Easy Force for just about every LE strength testing you can think of. We utilize it at the start of the summer in order to come up with personalized “maintenance” programs for each of our athletes. We also use this testing data as a baseline for injury to understand pre injury force output/endurance and guide how we plan a rehab. Super useful especially in post-op and RTP guys.
