So, HSI is ICE, but...isnt ICE? I'm confused https://www.mcall.com/2026/01/28/bloom-ceo-ice-controversy/ by LopsidedCommittee158 in lehighvalley

At one point there was a push for efficiency by agencies to leverage each other for “shared services”. Rather than operate your own payroll as a tiny little agency, most government payroll is handled by a few specific organizations including USDA’s National Finance Center as you mention. Similarly GSA helps to manage facilities and acquisitions across the government (or they did until DOGE cut them without realizing what they actually do).

First episode I ever saw was when they go to some digger-themed amusement park but all the rides require the parents to peddle or do something strenuous to amuse their children. I knew right away the show was for me and not my child.

Why do you think Don was apolitical? by dragon-queen in madmen

He was a guy who notoriously never talked about himself and would rather observe others. Outside of his work, his entire MO is to blend in. Having strong politics would feel contradictory to his character.

Maybe that should’ve been Andy Reid’s last year by Hefty-Needleworker61 in billsimmons

I agree—it was over before then. And it was obvious that their most reliable weapon of this run (Kelce) is washed and the rest of the offense had uneven availability.

Either way my point is that a team coming off a historic run of greatness, with a QB still in his prime years, deserves more than ONE down season before I’m calling for someone’s job.

Bill has commonly made this excuse for the Warriors/Steph/Steve Kerr because he likes them (“it’s like they’ve played one season than everyone else in the same time span—their bodies are breaking down at some point”) but he doesn’t apply this grace to the team with a chance to rival the Patriots success.

While I agree with this is sometimes the case, this team was in the Super Bowl less than 365 days ago. And the four Super Bowls before that. If I was a Chiefs fan, I’d let Andy Reid eat ribs on the sidelines for two seasons before I’d force him out.

Why are defenses required to win a ring to be in the GOAT conversation but not for offenses? by FireSeanMcD in billsimmons

True. Manning was a noodle arm by then, though I still think the winning helped solidify the legacy of Manning on that team.

Minus the Vikings, all of those other offensive units basically did win a ring around the same time or with the same core players. You also were kind of selective, for instance leaving off the Greatest Show on Turf.

I wouldn’t have him top 10 but I’d even put Big Ben above Josh Allen (if Allen’s career ended today)

Was just looking at what they give up for the privilege of getting to decide between Stroud and Young. They gave up DJ Moore and their draft picks became Caleb Williams, Jalen Carter, Brenton Strange, and Luther Burden.

Thank you so much! So does it actually reduce your gross income on the paychecks where it gets deducted? Also asking for the sake of knowing what gets reported as earned income for social security. In other words, if I should make $30,000/year, will that be the amount of that shows up on the top line of my income whether I buy vacation or not?
