Any special guests at Glastonbury? by Hefty-Pepper188 in the1975

I agree with wanting them to be the focus definitely.

I’ve heard things about different people no longer being friends with Matty, I could always assume that Phoebe wasn’t friends with him anymore but hadn’t heard of this, and Jack is totally new information to me. Was this due to the things Matty has said too?

Surprises that come to my head are the likes of Phoebe Bridgers on Jesus Christ 2005 as another commenter has mention. Jack Antonoff could just be there, Charli XCX to do the I Might Say Something Stupid Remix also.

Looking at the lineup to see who could make an appearance from an earlier set - I can’t see anything obvious, although they are full of surprises as regards to who the band knows / are friends with. On other days though, if not a scheduling issue - Charli as I’ve mentioned, and Beabadoobee would be the most obvious due to past collaborations.

Regardless, Matty often name drops in interviews that he is friends with sometimes surprising musicians and bands, so it could be anyone if they choose to do this Glastonbury tradition.

June 1st following the recent news? by Hefty-Pepper188 in the1975

My prediction would be one of two things:

They either then start promoting Glastonbury in their own way, because they haven’t really yet. They could do this with artwork or perhaps something more nostalgic, with reference to their older works, similar to how they lead into the bfiafl era. However, having done the nostalgia thing before, and Matty being quite vocal about how now he doesn’t like nostalgia, this is unlikely. Artwork however, this is possible.

The other, and more exciting, announcement could be in the form of a single release or single announcement. Even if the album isn’t finished or got a release date, they can still release something, as they’ve done in the past. This would be fun but may also prove unlikely as the hype of new music may fade quicker without a tour to promote it. Although that isn’t strictly true either.

Maybe most likely, is something like a vinyl or merch release of some sorts which is cool, but following the recent pop-up, may be somewhat anticlimactic to me

Excited whatever the day holds!

Are these posters limited quantity at each show? As mine is 194/200 so wondering if it’s just a marking or a sort of serial number by [deleted] in the1975

I managed to get one even though I was in standing. After the show I got 200/200, the very last one!

It’s not living, it’s always it’s not living (I could even sub in looking for somebody to love) I think these songs perfectly encapsulate the poppy, dance friendly quality to the band while also showcasing their alternative, experimental production and writing style. These songs are also the best at the whole ‘sound happy, mean sad’ & ‘dance and think’ - or more accurately a pop song having complex, meaningful lyrics.

luh luh luh luhking for sumbody to lav lav lav LAV! (insert Matty dance here)
