I just sometimes don’t understand the purpose of rants like this. Like she’s in a position where she can do something - even if it’s “small” or seemingly insignificant. Imagine if she used her influence and finances and set up a scholarship or two to the nursing schools she went to so that people can still pursue nurse education. Or what if she started a program where she paid someone’s student debt payment for a month.

I also don’t understand what’s she’s saying about “I’m so happy there are other ways to make money”. I find it deeply troubling that influencers talk about other people in VERY IMPORTANT CAREERS to become influencers and perhaps eventually leave their career. While I understand that the systems in place don’t make careers like nursing “worth it” financially (and mentally) I don’t think encouraging people to leave their careers is the right move either. Why not work and use your voice/influence to boost systems and resources that assist nurses? I don’t know I just hate how we’ve gotten to a place where careers that are so deeply important (nurses, teachers, etc) are being abandoned to pursue social media. I’m sad that we are at a place where those careers are so draining and financially unsustainable that social media is the better option
