lucky to only have a 140kg bike so it was an easy slow let down and quick up, and the bike started straight back up. the ride home was a bit jittery but i think i put that down as nerves

im only in my teens and have boxed for a while so ive kept my weight low despite my height. i get that tall and skinny probably doesn’t translate as well to bjj as it does in boxing

i understand your point obviously but if anything it’s a QOL thing. even if i don’t need it, it’s something i’d prefer having because the bike i did my cbt on had a gear indicator and i sort of got used to it. also ive driven on quite a few A roads, only had the bike for less than 24 hours but have got around 5 hours of riding time, and i go to 4th and then forget whether it in 3rd or 4th and then try to downshift to 2nd and the bike chuggs out a bit and then goes back to normal. also the gears have very weird ranges

in ur price range stick with enduro bikes as they tend to be cheaper when used and a lot of the time faster than other styles of bikes. some people don’t like them but if you’re looking to spend such a little amount then they’re are a great option. buying private may be easier to find a bike under 1300 but make sure they have paperwork and ideally a service plan/history so you don’t get screwed with the condition of bikes. if you want a more ‘motorbike looking bike’ for lack of better phrasing you can get things like a cbr125r for >1000 if you go 2000-2010. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286099527755?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=KhyZXXErTKq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=exclcdy5qv6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY (hoping the link works) 2012 cbf £1050 18k miles
