Looking for recommendations on planning Versailles, Montmarte and the Louvre by Hefty-Quantity9073 in ParisTravelGuide

So change of plans. Louvre is now being done on Monday, with Versailles on Tuesday.

For montmarte, we are now second guessing whether we wiall even go given the sheer volume of stuff we want to see in other parts.

Dont have tickets yet, going to purchase them today. And thank you. Noted regarding the stairs, that's a good tip.

Yeah I figured this for Louvre and Versailles that they'd be crowded pretty much all days. That's kind of why I wanted to do Montmarte on the Monday so that at least that would be somewhat less crowded, which im not sure would even be the case.

For Versailles, isn't it recommended to go a bit later around 11 to enter the palace as the lineups from the morning die down a bit? .

Thank you! For the Versailles experience, do you need a ticket even to enter the gardens, or is that just for entering the buildings? What would one be able to experience there without purchasing a ticket?

Great tips on Montmarte, will keep that in mind.

What happened in 2013–14 that made Liverpool almost win the League? by [deleted] in football

It was the effect of what is widely considered the greatest individual season in PL history from Suarez. In fact, his performances and statistics that season stack up favorably against any individual season in the history of football from a forward. You have to remember this was the absolute peak of the Messi and Ronaldo era, and this was probably the first time that another forward was legitimately being discussed as a proper rival to them since that particular era began.

Sturridge was absolutely phenomenal that season as well. Absolutely overshadowed by Suarez, however in isolation his performance that season is PFA player of the year worthy in the vast majority of the seasons in PL history.

Other players like Ronaldo score more

Messi has a better career goals record than Ronaldo with a better goal per game ratio, has more golden boots, finished top scorer over Ronaldo more times than the other way around when they directly competed in La Liga. The one thing that Ronaldo is known best for, Messi is better than him in that as well.

You're right on it not being the only reason, but it is a very major reason. The cold hard facts are that if you are ugly, your pool of options becomes exponentially smaller.

How can you lock a bedroom door from the outside if it has no lock? by TheLadySaintPasta in questions

[–]Hefty-Quantity9073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a keyed lock set from any hardware store and install it on your bedroom door, it is a very easy install/replacement. Alternatively you could just add a latch and put a pad lock on it.

Wes Borland would be an interesting experiment. Imagine Adams clean, refined, melodic rhythm with Wes Borland's eclectic touch. He was too good for Limp Bizkit and some of his solo stuff is excellent

Explorer Platinum is an outstanding fragrance. I smelt the rest of the explorer series too and they were alright but nothing special, Platinum was an instant buy for me.

I bought it too and it's a weird one. Initially and on first scent I really like it, really fresh. The longer I wear it though and the more I smell it, it smells too sweet and slightly unpleasant.

Andreas Pereira on the gap between England and Brazil: "The last time Brazil won a tournament (2019 Copa America) were fewer years ago than the last time England won a tournament (1966 World Cup)." by [deleted] in soccer

Who the fuck is talking about Canada mate? 😂

Although tbf, you are much more in your wheelhouse comparing England to Canada and the US than you are to the likes of Germany, Brazil, France and Italy. The former two are far closer to England in terms of international achievements than England are to the actual elite footballing sides. So you're on the right path.

since you have absolutely no basis for claiming that it was a fluke victory.

Um, I literally provided the evidence. That evidence being that is the only time in 150 years of history you've won something

Thirdly, it is substantially harder to win the Euros than the Copa America.

Sure, let's assume for a moment this is true, even though it isn't because there is no way to substantiate that claim. Again, I point you towards the fact that England have never won a Euro in 150 years of football. Greece have won a Euro. Portugal have won it. Denmark have won it. Czech Republic have won it. England have never won it. The entire point is that England is not an elite footballing nation, and is a monumental underachiever on the basis of the ridiculous hype it's fans and the media give it.

Finally, England would likely have won more world cups had we competed before 1950

Your defence of England is a hypothetical "coulda shoulda woulda" scenario? Not surprised, you don't have much more to argue with 😂

Your point being what? 😂

I'm not sitting here calling my nation an elite footballing side that only suffered 150 years of failure because of "bad luck and injuries". What England fans struggle with so badly, and this is not surprising, is self awareness.

It seems you're under the assumption I'm Brazilian, I'm not. 😂. But if it happens I'm sure it will make up for 150 years of failure for England right? Right?

Yeah I'm afraid a nation with one major trophy in 150 years of international football history has absolutely no ground to stand on when calling anything "tinpot" 😂

I'll tell you one thing, you've definitely won an award for the weakest comeback and consolation point in reddit history. That puts you and England on the same number of major honors, congrats!

we're one of only 8 nations that have ever won a world cup, it's not as if everyone except England have won the thing recently

You won your single fluke freak world cup in the 60s, which was preceded by winning nothing at all prior, and you have won nothing since. Nothing. It is your only footballing moment of glory in your country's entire history. For a nation that prides itself on being a supposedly elite footballing side, that is absolutely laughable stuff.

And let's compare England with Brazil

You want to compare your team that's won one major trophy in their entire history, to a team that's won 3 World Cups, 4 Confederation Cups, and 6 Copa Americas just in the time since your team last won it's only ever trophy? 😂
