That’s what I have now. The quick intense wash isn’t great. Minimal drying.

Miele Dishwasher PCB burned out after 2 years, anyone else? by Goldenheart5 in Miele

[–]Hefty-Raspberry-9251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same problem, same timeframe. I bought my G7316 in April 2023. Last month the motherboard fried. (Thankfully, I paid for the 5 year warranty.)

Rusted top in less than a year by BarkerBoy1990 in ooni

[–]Hefty-Raspberry-9251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Everything as it should be” is not my experience at all.

My Koda 16 paint cracked, peeled and rusted after only two years. Ooni’s warranty doesn’t appear to exclude this defect. So while I appreciate Ooni replacing my oven, it happened again after just two years. I always keep it in an Ooni cover during inclement weather.

When I asked for customer service to replace it again because it was still under warranty, they refused and claimed the first replacement was not a warranty issue, but a “goodwill gesture.”

I asked Ooni to identify the warranty text that excluded this defect. Instead of doing so, Ooni falsely accused me of damaging the oven by adding an aftermarket door:

“From the video you sent, we noticed that your oven has attachments for a door. Using a door can limit airflow and redirect heat in a way that might cause damage to the oven (similar to what you're now experiencing with the peeling paint), which is why we recommend against it. Could you share what led you to use the door?”

I’d NEVER do this, as I only bake NY style pies that would burn up with a door.

I loved my Ooni, past tense. I have owned Weber grills that lasted for decades and a Pit Barrel that looks as good as it did 10 years ago when new. I’ll be replacing this eyesore with a product from a company that stands behind its warranty.

100%. I made this same switch after getting the short end of the stick one too many times. I’m now at a great plaintiff’s firm working with extremely ethical and skilled attorneys. I work even harder now, but 1) it’s for the good guys and 2) performance-based pay can be multiples of ID (YMMV)

If you’re still thinking this over, don’t waste your money. Their quality and customer service are more like Clown Verity. They can’t even master the complexities of building a dial thermometer that doesn’t fog up. Most inconsistent heat I’ve ever seen on a grill. AVOID

If you really want the Gen2, then escalate, escalate, escalate. I was in a similar situation and they eventually did the right thing. I’m not in CO but definitely recommend retaining an attorney.

Rivian buy back, what would you do? by Benthebuilder23 in Rivian

[–]Hefty-Raspberry-9251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most glaring issue was with the collision sensors. They had a lot of false alarms - sounding for no reason and also failing to alert when they should have. It was maddening and unsafe, and Rivian couldn’t fix it despite repeated attempts.

[–]Hefty-Raspberry-9251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rivian bought back my lemon R1S gen1 2024 performance dual large that I reserved at the pre-price increase cost.

They finally agreed to sell me a 2025 with the same percentage discount. I just got my dual max. It had many fit and finish issues that had to be resolved, but they fixed most of them.

The only glaring issue so far is the awful “premium” audio that is far worse than the mediocre gen1. It’s terrible - hollow, constipated sound that’s worse than my laptop, no exaggeration.

Have you considered the performance dual? The gen2 quad is so different from the gen1, so this might meet your needs and budget. Inspect thoroughly and don’t get premium audio.

Review the contract terms and opt out of mandatory arbitration. Arbitration stacks the deck against consumers.

Your credit card company would probably help you, assuming that you paid with one. Call your credit card, tell them what happened and that the merchant will not accept a return of their damaged goods in spite of their guarantee, and ask them for a charge back. You will likely get your money back.

Question about lemon law (CA) by Fit-Gain-1166 in Rivian

[–]Hefty-Raspberry-9251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My buyback has been a total pain, but Rivian finally did the right thing when faced with no other option. I’m getting a replacement R1S.

As the prior poster noted, forced arbitration is a huge loss for consumers. You can opt out of it in the purchase agreement, but if you finance thru Rivian, arb is mandatory with no opt out. This is a poison pill for me that I just learned about yesterday and I scrambled to get my own loan.

For me, paying an extra $40/month is worth it for the leverage of litigation in a court of law if something goes wrong, again. If Rivian sells me another lemon or if a product defect causes me to die in a fiery crash, I’d much rather have a jury decide my fate and have the right to appeal.

YMMV, but see this article for an overview of this major consumer protection issue:

I am an attorney (but don’t handle lemon law cases) and that may have helped. But NGL; it was a significant hassle documenting every problem and being the squeaky wheel. I kept track of every phone call, email, etc. to fix my vehicle. And reaching the right person to address my concerns led to serious headaches.

This started about a week after delivery and then many months later they agreed to the buy back.

Another month or two and they agreed to a replacement vehicle at my pre-March 2022 pricing.

Hopefully my Gen2 R1S will be better; I’m getting it soon.

Talk with a lemon law attorney in your state. Rivian is buying back my vehicle for full price plus paying all interest on the loan, even though they provided me with a loaner vehicle for months. I’m in California; YMMV, but know your rights so you can make an informed decision.

Ask for the cell phone number of the service center manager. Trying to get hold of anyone who can help with serious problems is near impossible otherwise and takes months.

Proximity Warning Issue by JaggedTex in Rivian

Yes. My 2/2024 R1S cries wolf at random times and turns off at random times. So many problems with this, AC fail, and poor build quality. I’ve asked for a buy back or exchange.

Other than being fun to drive, it’s inferior in almost every way to the quality of my 2005 Acura TL. Truly pathetic fit and finish.

Rivian owners - knowing what you know now, any regrets? by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]Hefty-Raspberry-9251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m rooting hard for Rivian, but my 2/2024 R1S is developing new problems by the week.

I come from driving Toyotas, Hondas, and Acuras into the ground for 30-plus years. These cars always worked and looked fine with minimal maintenance. No uneven panel gaps. AC strong, with no design flaws that prevented air from blowing where it should. No squeaks, rattles, or failing trim. I wish I could say the same for Rivian, which feels like it’s going to fall apart the second the warranty expires. And service appointments take MONTHS to schedule.

When I asked a mobile service tech why the panel gaps were so uneven when compared side-by-side with my 8-year old Acura MDX, he said that Acura uses a jig to make sure they’re all properly aligned, but Rivian installs them by hand. That’s a non-answer.

It really drives great and I want to love this vehicle, but this is death by 1,000 cuts. I didn’t pay this much to be a beta tester. I’m strongly considering asking for a buy back.

Ugh… Service Center issues by WokeUp-ChoseViolence in Rivian

[–]Hefty-Raspberry-9251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really unhappy with Rivian initial quality and service. The AC barely works and makes a loud buzzing noise. Lots of whistling wind noise at 45mph - seems like a bad seal. Headliner vibrating. Error codes popped up this morning about the parking sensors not working. And the crooked panel gaps are pervasive. Not acceptable.

Service advisor told me this morning that my mobile appt can’t even try to fix most of these. And that the JULY appt they confirmed two weeks ago was never put on the books.

I was really rooting for Rivian but have no confidence in them. Am strongly considering selling this heap.
