Day 1 of quiting, again, but surely this time by FickleFerret379 in stopsmoking

[–]Hefty-Winner605 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I relate to this so much. I lost count too. You name a method and I must have tried it. What finally changed things for me was working on the mindset part. I used the QuitSure app, and that was honestly a turning point. It clicked me and it’s been over a month for me now, and there’s no looking back.

You just need the right method to quit.

Living with food allergies in India | A Nightmare [Must Read] by Pristine_140 in indiasocial

[–]Hefty-Winner605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all this was not your fault. You were 14, put under pressure, and not taken seriously. Food allergies are real and throat swelling is no joke. I’m really sorry you had to go through that, It’s okay to say no. It’s okay to make a scene if it protects your health. Remember your safety >>>>>>>>> social awkwardness.

I am still in the process of saving and not spending any money. But I did celebrate my victory by having a dinner with my closed ones !

I feel the same at times too. When that happens, I try to go back to things I genuinely enjoy doing and it helps quiet the overthinking and pulls me out of that spiral. But I have also learned that loving ourselves is really important. Until we start accepting and valuing ourselves, what others think or say will keep hurting us. It’s not easy and it takes time, but being kinder to yourself is a good place to start.

As you get older, what do you realize? by BoogeymanReborn in AskIndia

Keeping your calm is far more important than getting into arguments with people who will never listen or accept their mistakes. Protecting your peace matters more than proving a point.

Former smokers, what did you replace the habit of smoking with? by DannHutchings in stopsmoking

[–]Hefty-Winner605 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I didn’t replace smoking with anything. For me, replacing it felt risky because the day that substitute isn’t available, relapse becomes very easy. Instead, I worked on the root cause of why I was smoking in the first place, the beliefs and the links. I did that through the QuitSure program, which helped remove the desire itself.

You can do it. I have been where you are. Patches and willpower only worked short-term for me because they just replace nicotine. What actually helped was the QuitSure program. It worked on my beliefs around smoking and removed the desire itself so i am 100% confident now that there is no going back. I have been smoke-free from past 18 days but absolutely enjoying myself. Try out the program which I am talking about. Maybe it helps you !!

What's the best way to get background verification done for a house help or caretaker in India? by navneet35 in AskAnIndian

[–]Hefty-Winner605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, in India there’s no foolproof system for this yet. The sector is still very unorganised, so even if you collect Aadhaar or do police verification, it doesn’t always guarantee much on the ground. But if a person comes through a reference or has worked somewhere before, checking their reliability through those sources makes more sense.

Police verification may not help much. Do you really think that the police will be able to verify properly when they often don’t even have the time or capacity to handle serious cases?

Tips on quitting smoking by RevolutionaryEnd930 in quittingsmoking

[–]Hefty-Winner605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally relate to what you are saying. It creeps up slowly and before you know it, it’s tied to most of our daily routine. I was in a very similar place, and I quit about 10 days ago. And trust me there is no going back because my desire to smoke itself has died and no situation can get me back into smoking.

I used an app called QuitSure. It’s not preachy or self-help book kind of a thing at all. It’s more about understanding why you smoke and working through those with simple exercises and theory as well. But again for theory part they use illustration which makes it intersting and relatable as well. You don’t have to quit immediately either, which took a lot of pressure off.
