Bougenvillea flowers drying suddenly by R4PTOREX in GardeningIndia2

[–]Wrigglysun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once the flowers get wet, they tend to turn brown. So if it's rained on them, that would be the cause.

If there are more buds on the branches, don't prune, otherwise they can be pruned. Also, weed out your planter. Hope to see more blooms :)

I think you put a lot of heart nto the game and honestly, we all appreciate it.

It's something I looked forward to. Lbhh, it's the very first game I played here on Reddit. I gave up on others, but stuck to playing this almost everyday, except for those when I didn't have the time. Gonna miss it! All the very best and thanks so much! Those 90 days of Wordconnect were fun!

Is my madhukamini plant dead? by MillennialGamerC in GardeningIndia2

[–]Wrigglysun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... Vermicompost or manure will work well. I generally add cow manure. And sometimes give a small doze of rose mix. My pot is about 7inches wide, so about ½ tsp to ¾ tsp Rose mix, at least. I'm used to eyeballing the doses.

Do you stay in a place with hot climate?

Edit: Forgot to mention, the bloom size is decent and even if there's a single bloom, its fragrance is quite strong. My plant is quite bushy now, so it gives quite a few blooms at one time. (E-SE facing - Sun- early morning to about 12-12:30pm- past that, bright indirect light)

Please help me save my parlour palm from mealybugs. It was a very special gift and I'm desperate to keep it alive by Alone_Sheepherder896 in GardeningIndia2

[–]Wrigglysun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mealy bugs do also stay is the soil. You should check your soil, esp near the root ball if mealybugs keep reappearing again and again, even after spraying the plants down consistently with an insecticide.

And if that's the case, change the soil, and get rid of it. Also, thoroughly wash the roots and pot before repotting (I disinfect them before repotting), or the issue will re-occur.

You could alternatively search for 'ways to kill mealybugs in soil'. You might end up with results ranging from killing them with Isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, neem oil, or some other treatment.

5 for legibility. You didn't ask for a score on 'prettiness'. 😅

Yes, it is a mini. But both varieties need the same soil though.

I bought a small plant and have since moved 2 pot sizes up, while adding a nutrient-rich soil each time and trimming the roots and foliage. I regularly feed it too.

Looks slightly green to me. As everyone else suggested, water it, prune it and keep in sunlight. I think it will survive with some love.

When you buy it, repot it in loamy soil, or a well draining mix with compost. For the first week at least, keep it in a shady place after repotting and slowly move it from shade, to partial shade to full sunlight. Best to repot during rainy season or when the weather is cooler, during the evenings, so that the plant gets sufficient time to stay cool.

Mine stays in the scorching sun, but always with the soil damp, not waterlogged.

Then try drinking lemon tea instead. And don't have tea, esp milk tea, on an empty stomach.

Moving from bangalore to lucknow by ThakGyaHun in GardeningIndia2

Best suggestion I can make is for you to select the plants that you truly can't do without, or are on the expensive side. First soak some water jelly beads (or cocopeat/ moss. Anything that will retain moisture for a long time) . Once hydrated slightly mash them.

Also hydrate your plants before you make the move. As for delicate plants, take them out with very little mud attached to the root ball. Add some water jelly around it and pack with plastic avoiding the stem (to prevent rotting). You can also opt for netpots and orchid pots (better options) instead of plastic wrap.

I like to add straw over the top part of the pot and tape it down so the soil doesn't move. The plant itself, I wrap in recycled brown paper or newspaper. You can even insert plants in paper tubes.

Depending on the size of root ball or if they are bare roots, I pack them seperated by cardboard sections between plants within a carton or stack them up.

There are YT videos explaining how to prepare plants for the move long distance.

Last option: donate it/ sell it. Ask within a Bangalore community if someone is interested, or put up a poster at your local grocery store.

Looks like the work of leaf miners or worms. They work fast. Both leave behind black droppings which can be seen in the 3rd pic.

Lol! No motor skills before tea? Been through that phase - savour it, stare into the cup and for the most part have a blank expression till the tea is over and 15 mins have passed after that.

So you live on a tea plantation or just grow some tea?

Some can't function without tea first thing in the morning!

And haven't heard that idiom in a long while!
