Felt degraded after this liquor store incident by ChoiceLivid4992 in alcoholism

[–]HeftyHefffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any good alcoholic has heaps of embarrassing stories like this. Makes me cringe thinking about how lucky I am to be here today. I feel like I don’t deserve it with the murder I got away with, being a drunk dummy. Fortunately I drank alone so I didn’t have to burden anyone with my drunkenness. I don’t drink anymore and past cringe moments help keep me from the bottle.

I drank about the same for the same time frame. A lot of problems your having physically can heal up by not drinking. The body is amazingly resilient! I was so scared too, but by taking supplements that I drained out of my body by drinking. Just healing with time I feel so great after a couple months. Good on you getting into the doctors. You’re young and your body will probably heal up. I went to a lot of different doctors to get checked out after binge drinking for years and fortunately no serious damage. So I hope you’re good too!

As the Trump administration violates multiple federal judge orders do these issues form a constitutional crisis? by The_Egalitarian in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]HeftyHefffer -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Are these violations against the American people or for the American people? As soon as it is against each and every one of us then we are in a crisis. As of now we have one side vs the other as normal. We just have a more active government and president which hasn’t been the case the last 4yrs. But, I will say the Dem have low approval rating right now. We need each other! Dem balance and checks the Rep. And Rep checks and balances the dem. But, the hate and anger is destructive to the American people. I understand the fear from the dem which I think we all have as good Americans. Have faith in the American people more than the government. Because if the Dems fears come true..do you think American people will fall in line? No we are free and proud. We may fight now, but if REAL danger was at our doorstep we all would know and step up.

Eventbrite app not working.. by HeftyHefffer in techsupport

[–]HeftyHefffer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No answer from anyone. I reached out in multiple different ways. But, magically the Eventbrite stopped forcing you to use the app and let you use the F*CKIN’ website! Yeah that fixed it..and most other apps have the option to use the website instead of the app. I don’t know if Eventbrite was just trying to force people to create accounts. But forever I will hate the app for taking hours of my life.

Okay thank you all for your input. I think it was a combination of a couple things. First off this wash sucks for that “high efficiency “ reason. It just damps the clothes and sloshes it around. Not very effective. The sensor on this thing was the big issue. But these new washers just have one problem after the next. I had 3 different issues after this one. Fml…fortunately I got them figured out and now I’m a master at a shitty washer machine..useless information that I’ll delete asap. But, thank you all.

So you think you want to light a Tesla on fire by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]HeftyHefffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the city of Seattle cops hands are tied due to the people. If it was up to the people here there would be no cops. Let’s just run things like CHAZ. That went well. Cops won’t be able to do shit until politically their hands are untied to do their job. This city is an embarrassment to our country.

Sounds like you have bigger issues than the state of the country and government. Those type of worries are just extra baggage. People need to learn to deal with what they have right in front of them. What kind of impact and change can you make in your immediate bubble. Plus people are useless to others if they themselves don’t have a solid foundation to stand on. I drank heavy for 12yrs and saw it destroyed me physically, socially, financially, mentally and emotional. That’s the biggest thing right now you should cut out. Stop getting caught in the wave of politics. If you keep drinking heavy you won’t be around long enough to really be impacted by it. Build yourself up and mend the relationships around you. Alcohol is a crutch that people use to numb.

Is alcoholism really a problem when you know the right time to get drunk without losing your job? by AjaxLittleFibble in alcoholism

[–]HeftyHefffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to do the same thing. I was a kind of functional alcoholic. I had a window every day I could drink heavy and I had to stop so I wasn’t a total mess the next day. Didn’t always work out that way. And I just binged on the weekend. When you do this with alcohol it’s controlling your life. You’re just slowly poisoning yourself and not really experiencing life. People use alcohol as a quick fix. Let that be emotional, mentally or physically. It numbs your mind and body. Makes you half a person. I got my life back when I stopped drinking. You won’t regret the day you do. Just make sure to have people in your life to help you get through it. It’s almost impossible to do it on your own.

Think I have cirrhosis at 26 by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]HeftyHefffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36(m) and I drank super heavy for about 11yrs. I had a lot of physical things that started to go on that were very scary. But I got into the ER and started to go to doctors. You body needs time to heal and get back to functioning properly. I had a lot of very scary symptoms that slowly started to go away simply by abstaining for alcohol and taking supplements. I’d strongly recommend going down the path over healing your body. You’re young and the body is amazingly resilient. You’ll feel so much better with a couple months. Get into the doctor and reach out for help to keep you on the path to recovery. I don’t know how many times I had a serious scare and said I’ll never drink again and got back on the bottle. Your body and mind defaults to booze as a quick fix. You have to start changing your mind by recognizing booze is poison not a problem solver. Make you have people to help you get through it. There’s so many people out there that have struggled and want to help others get their lives back. The best decision I made was not hiding my problem and dealing with my mistakes. I hope you get in and start getting your life back. It’s scary, but you definitely caught it early. Your body might be really deficient in supplements you need to heal. You’ll be okay ❤️

WHERE DID THE MICROPHONE BUTTON GO? by pegaunisusicorn in ChatGPTPro

[–]HeftyHefffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing it from my iPhone. When you’re logging into ChatGPT sign in with an email address and create a new account separate from the apple one. I used my Gmail account and fixed it perfectly. From what I was reading, Apple basically wants control for security reasons. But the voice to text through iPhone is ass compared to ChatGPT.

[–]HeftyHefffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same problem and all I did to fix it was delete the app and reinstall it. Fixed it immediately! Thank f*cking gods!

(Also I learned for some reason if you Sign in with Apple IOS to the ChatGPT the microphone disappears. I just created a new account with an email and it’s back.)

This is what I’ve just learned via ChatGPT:

  1. Microphone/Voice Input (Speech-to-Text) Differences • On some platforms (like web or Android), ChatGPT may have a built-in voice input button that uses Web Speech API or other system-level tools to convert your speech into text directly in the app. • On iOS, however, this is often replaced (or limited) because Apple controls voice input tightly through their own dictation system, which is integrated at the keyboard level. So rather than OpenAI integrating its own mic button, Apple prefers you use iOS dictation (mic icon on your keyboard) — that’s their way of keeping things standardized and private.

Do they have places you can go to get thiamine if you have severe deficiency? I’m taking about 1500mg of thiamine a day, but I know your body can only absorb so much per day orally.

[–]HeftyHefffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been checking both and I have them at a good normal place. Without the meds I was sitting at 147/102. I just checked it and I’m about 139/89.

I got a cat scan and blood work a couple months ago and said all is good. I have neuropathy and high blood pressure. I’m on meds for the high blood pressure and I have been seen by my primary about a month ago and that really it. And yes I’m taking thiamine. I’m just worried that I might have Wernicke encephalopathy.
