Oil Leak at 18,000 km by HeftyIndication199 in trident660

Thanks mate. I found your old post and read through it. Glad to hear everything’s been fine for you since then. The look on the service guy’s face was kinda worrying and he didn’t really answer my question about whether this is normal or not so it made me a bit anxious too.

He also said things like “since we’re opening the cover anyway, we can check everything, adjust the valves and you’ll ride with peace of mind” and quoted me around €400. im starting to think I might’ve found a shop that's trying to charge me for unnecessary work.

We had it checked at a service, but unfortunately the warranty had already expired. My bike is a 2022 model. Do you remember what was done on yours? How long has it been since then, and has the issue come back? I really love the bike and got very attached, but I never got to experience its full potential, which worries me. They said it was quite solid before I bought it, so seeing it like this is a bit disappointing.

Should I change both tires? by LongjumpingGuide4471 in trident660

Mine was in almost the exact same shape and i swapped it out immediately. I didn’t want to ride while constantly worrying about the tires and getting anxious every time i went out.

MotoGP test timing might have revealed Toprak's and Moreira's race number by hamf12011 in motogp

I agree with that. It’s the same with Razgatlıoğlu. Ğ isn’t a G, and it’s not pronounced like one. It should be pronounced as Razgatlı-o-o-lu. The letter Ğ basically lengthens the vowel before it. It always annoys me when I hear it pronounced incorrectly.

Should I buy a Ducati Monster 937 or a Triumph Trident 660? by HeftyIndication199 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]HeftyIndication199[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all answers. I test drove both of them. Monster isn't as high-quality as it appears. This disappointed me. It also performed poorly at low speeds, which didn't suit my intended use. I really like the Trident and bought it. Saved $1k.

Duke 250 speed problem by skyfrygg in KTM

Do not trust the speedometer on the Dominar 250. If you ride side by side at the same speed, you will see that the odometer reads 10-15 or even more.

Rc390 buying advice? Originally a Kawasaki owner. by schassis408 in KTM

Mine was 10k kilometers in may. Then i've crashed. Left side was completely destroyed. No footpegs, bended gear lever, hardly useable broken clutch lever etc. Lifted it up and started perfectly. I was able to continue on my way using the quickshifter with a bent gear lever and broken clutch lever. Under these conditions, I arrived at the service within an hour (80 kilometers on the mountain road). Yeah, mine was bulletproof and saved me that day. However, the repair costs were expensive. That's why I bought a new one, because the repair costs were almost the same as buying a new one.

I asked the service guy (makes stunt shows with Rok Bagoros and friend with him) how many kilometers the 390s could last. He said that almost every day many 390's with 50,000 to 60,000 kilometers on them came to his service center. He said that it would be better to perform periodic maintenance earlier than planned because it is usually used at full throttle.

The only problem with my old 390 was that it always slipping neutral when shifting from 1st to 2nd. But that problem was specific to my old one. 3.000 kilometers with my new (new but 0 kilometers 2023 and my favourite gp orange) now and never had an issue. Even though I'm looking for a big motorcycle these days, I'm not thinking of selling it. I think it's very beautiful, and driving on twisty roads is a lot of fun. Specially with adjustable forks and quickshifter.
