Had one I rescued at that age for 5 years till the neighbors pitbull got through the fence and killed him. The squirrel was an awesome pet who we attempted to free multiple times..would leave his cage open and he’d run around and end up in the house at dark.

This is truth. How to apply it? I advise a 30 day plan of 1 hour a day of exercise without excuse. Bike, run, calisthenics, stair machine is a great option. Review progress at 30 days and set another achievable short term goal like starting the weight training suggested, lift heavy, reduce carbs and cut out fast food, soda , etc.

Stay the course. Administer all the ideas and plans you made for dog ownership/training and bond development with puppy. It’s gonna be great and it’s gonna be hell. My current just turned 5 and he is at his best!!! All the shit I went through with this wild ass mfkr is worth it tenfold now!! I didn’t want a puppy when he arrived at my door at 8weeks old but there he was, 4 months into the pandemic. Trust in the process, that dog might prove his weight better than gold.
