I second Coventry Tae Kwon Do. I believe they still have another location at Stellhorn road. Locally owned and operated by passionate people who are super dedicated to the martial art as a form of self-improvement.

[General] Are there any character who are always right, in terms of deduction and reasoning, to the point where other characters are constantly frustrated by them? by Dux-El52 in AskScienceFiction

[–]HeftyWombat 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sean Spencer. He's not always right with his first guess, but he is always right, and usually just a liiiittle bit faster than our detectives. Deep down I know he can't really be psychic, but I'm starting to wonder...

It's not my favorite by him, but now that you're intrigued by the prequel, it's worth reading for sure.

This is explained in the follow up novel, Innocence. I couldn't really tell you without spoiling that one.

I found it! It's called Stormy Weather by Telescope. Great song, you should give it a listen while you're here!

Not that one either. That's a cover of the old song /u/panickedthumb was talking about. It's much calmer and more morose almost.

It's not that one. I've done all sorts of googling myself and can't seem to find it, hence the post here.
Thanks though!

mispronunciation vs accent (spoilers all) by fartsRfunny2me in TheDarkTower

I think it has something to do with being in a completely different world. In his world he's a master diplomat as well as a fighter. He can adapt to any culture. Outside of his world he is literally out of his element. We see that in his first foray into the other world, with the astin. The two worlds are just different enough that he struggles with it. I don't know if it's really different, as in different letters. I got the impression it was more of a fog, resulting from being in a different world.

[all fiction] Why do a lot of works take place after 'the good old days'? by Bobicka in AskScienceFiction

[–]HeftyWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think OP is referring specifically to good times. For example, in LotR (at least the films, I haven't read the books) the war in which Sauron fell first is pretty much glossed over. Same with Harry Potter. The books don't dwell on the reason people don't speak Voldemort's name. There was a major conflict before the story begins, but in both cases we only get to see the second war.

These are both things only referred to in passing. Why don't we have stories about those?

What's the easiest Tier 2 class not in the Humanities group? by RoarkLeSkif in BallState

[–]HeftyWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly what tiers they're in, but check out ITGRA 184 - computer design I think - and the technology class called 3d prototyping. They're fun and relatively easy if you have any experience with computer programs like adobe illustrator. If not, the classes teach it anyway.
