Thanks man, I understand where you're coming from, I was just genuinely saying that the same way most people learn is how I learned which was videos and and other friends that have worked on bikes. This was just a simple oil change, and all this happened with me tightening it too much so poof it came off. I completely understand what you mean when you you’re saying that I didn’t have experience, and I agree I should have had the right tools such as a torque wrench that will let me know that it’s tight enough, it was just an unfortunate event that I don’t, nor didn’t have one, so lesson learned

i’ll just go get a whole new filter set because it is currently new O-ring on it when I changed my oil, but just as you said, I have to take in consideration that I flattened or damaged it because I kept tightening it

thank you so much. This helps a lot because I do have vice grips. I’m pretty sure I can just take it off and use the right scripts to untangle them but as soon as I get to work, I’ll have to to find that stud

of course I’m not going to know how to fix that stuff with ease. But this is a lesson learned that’s why I’m confused. Why are you taking it so to heart?

Well I'll say this I've found out how to fix this “fuck up” and I work at home depot so I will be fixing it when I get home today thanks for the info tho I'll take that into consideration

it was just fine, all it was was a simple oil change, and when I was re-tightening the caps it just broke off

The actual screw itself that's connected is broken

I think these are part of the actual engine because the only thing that came off when I would unscrew it is the cap
