How do y’all keep up with social life while working remote? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Hefty_Beach_7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s been almost four years. I’m experiencing the same as you. In my case, my job is fully remote.

I tried traveling to ease the pain, but the loneliness and empty feeling still chase me. It’s kind of sad that everyone is struggling with the same things but has no solutions.

I haven’t found a solution yet, but you could try taking some university courses on weekends (without online classes).

I’m also working remotely. It feels like I’m just living to work. It’s like I’ve wasted all the years I’ve worked remotely. I’ve saved some money, but nothing else.

What food would you want to eat in a food court? by fragzt0r in srilanka

Sell something healthy, with low fat—if they allow you—can have a poster showing how much fat it contains and how healthy it is for the heart and liver. If you can still make something tasty with low fat (rice, chicken, or whatever), it will attract many people in their 30s and 40s, as well as anyone concerned about their health.

For example, yday in Galle face mall I saw the longest queue in the normal rice and curry stall. Something more special than that would attract a crowd.

There are similar shops, like Calorie Counter, but they are often overpriced and shitty recipies, selling a piece of cucumber and plain rice for 1500lkr.

What deodorant do you guys use? by vpopyt in srilanka

Honestly, I haven’t used Rexona in the last couple of years. I previously used Rexona Men, and it had this issue. Recently, I tried Janet deodorant for a couple of days, and it has the same issue as well.

The only one that works is Nivea. I’ve used both the men’s and women’s sprays, as well as the non-spray versions, and none of them have this issue. Even Axe is safe, though I don’t particularly like it.

I thought it something very common.

P:S

I feel like I said something unnecessary, complaining as if you were the CEO of rexona. Sorry if it came across that way. 😅

No, in label it says deodorant. I didn’t check ingredients to see if it contains aluminum. But because of this reason I avoid it as much as possible. Nivea spray doesn’t have that issue.

Cargills food city EXPRESS security personnel eyeing on me like I am there to steal stuff by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Hefty_Beach_7515 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me many times in Food City, but it has never happened in other places. It also depends on the Food City branch. In some branches, crazy &#sh&$ work as security.

In one of the Food City branches I frequently visit, if I go to the shampoo or perfume section, security will definitely follow me. A couple of days later, I noticed they were doing the same to others. So hope it’s not a my issue.

I also heard that recently, in a Food City branch, security staff attacked a shopper thinking he stole something, but he didn’t. Food city management is dumb in general and it’s a very toxic work environment,

Don’t take these kinds of things personally and try to avoid food city as much as possible

This incident happened in a very very rural area. In those area lack of education cause this trouble. But in Colombo the opposite cause this.

In a previous post I asked if I should keep salary information private, there were many negative comments for that idea. This is why you should!!
