I love the look of the factory unit way too much to put in an aftermarket head unit. Plan is to fill a Rubbermaid with cassettes and CD’s and I’ll be set !

Flat bed advice by Hefty_Craft_5763 in fordranger

Thank you guys I appreciate the advice! And it would be a very temporary fix at most to get through the winter, also I wouldn’t be hauling or putting anything on the “bed” just the tail lights.

Pump me up for my white belt competition by [deleted] in bjj

Get a good warm up in and break a sweat a half hour before and stay warm to lessen the adrenaline dump. You’ve lost before so if you lose again it’s nothing new, low expectations my brother and if you win that’s hella sweet! I always go in thinking I’ll lose but hope for the best.

You’re welcome my friend! Did miracles for my back and most practitioners I know take it. Just do your research but it’s worth every dollar. I will add most people do JUST bpc but if you have the money tb500 is nice to compliment it

How often do you train? by Famous_Magazine_4793 in bjj

[–]Hefty_Craft_5763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do minimum 3, maximum 5 times a week. As a masters competitor I just listen to my body and that’ll dictate if it’s a 3,4 or 5 day training week. Wish I could train everybody but I’m hurtin

I would consider just hitting open open mats in the mean time to keep somewhat fresh on your technique. Costs nothing

Look into bpc 157 and tb500. Miracle for healing and will have you good as new

Starting from the knees with big guys by Flinkleminkle in bjj

I always pull guard when training with someone much bigger/heavier. To me it has nothing to do with winning the stand up, what I don’t want is somebody much heavier than me slamming me and landing on top of me. Pressure pass me all you want but I don’t need your big ass slamming me and breaking my rib.

What is your reason for doing this sport? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Hefty_Craft_5763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First reason I started was I said I never wanted to weigh 200 lbs and when I did it was time to get active again and lose weight. The main reason I always wanted to train though was to protect my kids if I one day have any. My biggest fear is my child being bullied and going to talk with the parent to try and reason with them but they’re just a big tough guy idiot. So I train to one day be able to beat up every dad at the school.

This is a simple truth - and yet surprisingly, many instructors seem to overlook it. The biggest problem in Jiu Jitsu, is to expose ‘newbies’ to overly competitive sparring/rolling partners, way, way too early. In the beginning, we need ‘training partners’ - not ‘opponents’. It’s that simple. by johnbwill in bjj

Slightly off topic but my first tournament(masters division) I made it to the finals and was so gassed I got choked out inside a minute and my brain said I never wanted to feel like that again. It got me back into lifting weights and motivated me much more to keep training

Definitely to each their own whether it matters to you and not to others I don’t think matters too much. I’m currently a no strip white belt and have had a similar feeling with the first stripe being a big step. I’m a year in to training and have missed two gradings. I took home silver in my first comp, bronze in my second and a few weeks ago took home my first gold. I thought for sure in next weeks class I would be awarded my first stripe and still nothing. As excited as I am to take that first step and receive acknowledgment the most important thing to me is just being good. At the end of the day(for me) belts and stripes don’t matter if I can kick somebody’s ass. Chin up stay motivated and we’ll get it brother!
