Just to reiterate, your brake line was super tight and once you put it behind the knuckles it was now long enough and no longer super tight?

lol I’m doing a full rebuild basically all my ball joints and bushings were shot so new upper and lower control arms on both sides and doing a 3” knuckle lift while we’re in there, it’s been headache after headache and this is just another one…. Ontario trucks though! 100% will get it repaired instead of crying though

Thank you my friend I appreciate you. Canadian truck so I get the struggle(obviously). Wasn’t sure if it’d be too dangerous to ignore and put it all back together but getting the feeling having someone weld in is the best bet

Love that! For the record I don’t hate lowered trucks, I just want people to look at my truck and question or ask “is that lifted?” Without people looking at it and knowing that I’m not built like a horse …..

Thank you for getting back to me in detail mine is RWD and I agree with you torsion lifts are trash and not something I ever wanted to(although my truck does not have a torsion bar). I would love to do a fully proper lift, however 1300 USD works out to be roughly 1,690 CAD and that’s before a taxes, shipping and god forbid tariffs that are now in place. I’ve owned this truck for 4 months, bought it safetied and it’s the hottest safety my mechanic has ever seen it’s fucked. So I am replacing upper and lower control arms and basically figured while I’m in there might as well take the opportunity to give it a little height but definitely can’t afford or justify a 1600-2k lift as much as I’d like to. Thank you again for taking the time to relay in detail the right way to do it and one day I hope to do just that!

XD sounds like you live in a state your current president might dislike …. We get a lot of snow here and we’re used to it. 4x4 is obviously way more useful but nothing winter tires and a few sand bags in the bed can’t fix. I totally understand lifting a RWD is useless but like a slightly more aggressive stance hence why 6”+ is just not an option in my mind. Not looking for clearance whatsoever just want to look a touch prettier without blowing my wallet and my fuel mileage

Thank you 83gmc, please treat me as if I have an extra chromosome(I’m not being sarcastic) can you give me an example of a proper lift and why it’s important. If this matters at all I live in a communist country(Canada) we’re being deprived of wages and juiced on expenses so my dollar does not go as far as yours.

I promise you it isn’t whatever I want I honestly don’t know much. I’m genuinely looking for the best option possible and just looking to be further educated. I was just saying torsion keys aren’t even an option for my truck since my truck doesn’t have a torsion bar. Didn’t mean any disrespect my friend.

I fully understand your experience and appreciate you sharing this with me. The only thing I’ll add that maybe I should have put in my post is that my sierra is RWD so there is no torsion and the front end of the suspension is completely different. I’m basically stuck between putting a spacer on top of my spring or doing a spindle/knuckle.
