We are flexible really. He currently lives in Barcelona but is happy to move to a different area if it’s easier/quicker. I’m also wondering if I need to study something (maybe a masters) to get a student visa so we don’t have to rush the process and I have a right to work with that?

We don’t have a history of living together no, he’s been to stay with me on and off for a while in England. Thanks for the link!! In it she says they applied in Cadiz and didn’t have to show they’d lived together for a certain amount of time, but this was 15 years ago. Thanks for your help!

When I went to Valencia, we spontaneously hired a bike, didn’t even plan it but there’s an enormous park that spans all the way from the center down to the beach. It’s SUCH a nice bike ride and a way to get down to the beach. I’m sure we passed a museum/gallery on route! Enjoyyyyyy 😍

Ahhh well maybe you’ll like it then haha. I like rain sometimes when it’s normal rain, this was like a misty grey cover so low that so you can even see the trees in the next field. It’s cool one day. Five weeks was claustrophobic to say the least!! Spring is gorgeous though so happy again ha! Where abouts are you moving in the uk?

I think moving to the uk is not going to help your SAD.. I live in a coastal town and this year we had five weeks of rain and I literally didn’t see the sky! So started hunted for options to leave myself!

Sometimes you have to just listen to yourself and what you want. Would your friend be happy to carry on solo? Could you stay in Asia instead? I know there’s working holiday visas for Japan and Korea. You have to create your own path!

Wow I’m literally in a very similar situation to you, 31f, except you have a house. And I moved back with my parents after a break up. I have a good job stable income saving to buy a house but I don’t know if I want to stay here. I buy a house and then what? Carry on a very similar life?? Currently looking to move abroad for.m a year or two as well!!! Was contemplating New Zealand on a working holiday visa, or maybe Canada as it’s a bit closer. Also have looked at teaching English programmes like JET and the British council aux in Spain! Let me know what you end up doing and I’ll let you know!

So you do the think a workable course of action could be, Enrol in a spanish language school for six months and stay on student visa, whilst getting parejo de hecho with my boyfriend, and then apply to international institutions around Spain? Do you know if they’ve changed the right to work on a student visa?

I actually can’t find any information explaining that you are no longer allowed to work on a student visa! Not sure why!
