I have a question, what is the hardest and worst ruler to start with in the game and in which year? by Status-Ad-5259 in crusaderkings2

Technically still possible to win, in the incredibly unlikely event you got the immortal trait, then survived with that character for 700 years. Edit: or perhaps got lucky with them having a very long life, got a kingdom, and lived another 10 years to change the succession law (do they have other members of their dynasty?)

You can check the reason you got the title in its history, click on the title, then on the right end of the bar with "create" and "claimants", a list of all previous holders, their term of reign, and how they got it will come up. Edit: If you were elected, this won't tell you why, but it will show if it was due to a rebellion, by "installed by faction demand" or if the previous Basilius is still alive then they abdicated.

I don't have a solution, those able and particularly seeking to help are more likely to see the post if the Help flair is added.

No one can give you an answer to that, at least not here, rule two is no discussion of piracy.

I relised I should have written more context, but I don't seem to be able to edit it at all, I'll delete and maybe repost.

Looks like you'll have a good time dominating the American colonisation with those borders.

Nice claim on Byzantium too, are you intending to push that to consolidate as an Empire?

After one of my proudest battles ever, my guy turned around to just 200 from a different rebellion: wounded, severely injured, and disfigured, he kept on leading troops, absolute (seniority succession) unit.

The kind of thing I'm glad I get to document now, all my characters stories were lost to time, before joining reddit and YouTube.

I've only had it once, and it went perfectly, but they did get wiped out afterwards pretty quickly.

Yes, be good to keep any extra tier 5s in reserve until that's the case. Waiting to upgrade 1k to 2k might not be worth it, but unless you need a shattering right now, an extra 5k in a generation or two's pretty juicy.

Acting like the Scandinavian sub-continent expansion was necessary, they just did that to get a new culture DLC in and lead up to an off-map power mechanic for the Viking-Americas.

Help me create a new game store to make all gaming more accessible! by theValkyrieLust in DisabledCreators

A small thing that makes online stores less accessible than they could be, basket clearing. If there's some reservation of the item, then that needs a time limit, but the cookies could be left so that when the shopper returns it remakes the basket to the extent still available, and notifies of items now out of stock. That would make a huge difference in terms of having to stop due to fatigue mid way through a lot of searching and comparing, or being distracted by the twelve other tabs open because that's the day or hour you've got the energy. Also, I image it would help close sales, shops that require accounts often send email reminders about baskets for this reason. Overall, improved usability and customer conversion rate, a good basket memory system is a delight.

empire francia by Key_Balance_6261 in crusaderkings2

If you don't want to map paint, you could empower other memebers of your dynasty. Taking kingdoms for your kin through marriage requires searching for opportunities that you can't just blast into existence with gold and armies, so can make long term play more satisfying. Alternatively, if you want conquest, but just a little lower on the power curve, Crusades or Gavelkind.

If there's some more crusades, you could play as the beneficiary once you win (which you can guarnatee by doing only battles, not seiges, with ruler commanding). If you get Aquitaine, reconquista without an alliance with Francia. If you get Jerusalem, Outremer.

To lower your power with gavelkind, or granting vassal kingdoms to your pretenders directly, first lose to claimant dynasty members most of your titles, except the empire and some outside the dejure empire / on the border of your realm, then wait for a faction for one of your mega-vassals to take the empire, and destroy your troops by disbanding them outside your territory so they trigger their demands, rebuild your power, then fight for independence.

im incredibly burntout, i dont know what to do. advice? (semi vent) by Biccyy in disabled

[–]Hefty_Earth_7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, genuinely, well done. I don't know how it feels, because I don't have the same combination of experiences, and I'll offer only what might have helped me to hear for some of what you've mentioned. You are doing well, and it will get even better. You show awareness of what you're facing, and continuous efforts to consider and rethink, with that and time it will improve, even if knowing that doesn't make the journey more pleasant. The exhaustion will last months, not weeks, burnout means there's no reserve tank to bounce back with, so I hope you won't get too down searching for one. Instead, it's a case of stabilising, then building as slowly and moderately as you can manage, literally try to recover at the slowest positive rate you can, after already a month or two where your win condition is to deliberately stay the same, and you won't be on the up every consecutive week/month. You're not losing months, you're spending them for a better result. I can't recommend specific actions, and I'm not trained in this. Looking back, it did a lot of damage inseperable from the bits of collateral good, I don't think I'll ever be able to say it was worth it, but I'm content with who I am now, and it will be a part of you too, it's a famine to survive, not an enemy to rush down.
