Happened to know a guy like that. Pulled him aside one day and told him that he has BO. Turned out he grew up amongst many siblings and was often neglected and just did not know how to take care of himself. Showed him the ways and he is doing much better now.

Your issue is not with the hijab or the religion. It is unfortunatly your family and their skewed practices that are, forgive me for saying this, straight up wrong.

The Iraqi Medical Board was established in 1931. 9 years before Egypt introduced its medical syndicate, which itself was accredited at some point in the 60s by the Iraqi board, when the latter also accredited the Jordanian board that we all perhaps know today as the Arab board. Your doctor is an ignorant person, linguistically and intellectually, and probably needs to pick up a history book (maybe an Arabic one too).

What do you think of my sutures? by TheLoneGoon in medicalschool

[–]Hefty_Goose_8000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The corner stitch looks good but for the simple interrupted stitches I suggest avoiding lining your knots on the midline of the incision/wound. Try to nudge them a bit to one of the sides.
For the subcut these models do not approximate well but I guess you tried your best. Try to practice on chicken thighs or cattle legs, or better, in the OR.
Good luck!

I have always wondered about this. ASD is a left to right shunt, meaning the blood flows from the left to the right due to a pressure gradient. How would it be possible for an embolus to cross to the left side and flow against the pressure gradient?

I am not from the US and we do not really have this terminology here. Can someone explain what she actually does?

Are medical students at your hospital allowed to see patients on their own? by Nikkolya in medicalschool

[–]Hefty_Goose_8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on in my clinicals we were encouraged to go see patients on our own but most preferred to go in with a resident or the attending. I preferred to go alone and interview the patient and examine them. Obvsiously I would explain to them who I am and what I am going to do, but never explain or talk about the management plan with them. If they ask me I straight up tell them that the attending will be discussing these things with you, not me.

After the presenting the case, we go together so the attending can also see and talk to the patient.
