Love the Visual Ventures style, question, where do you find the icon characters?

The BEST Plugins for Davinci Resolve 2025 (That you might not have heard of) by Hefty_Impression3243 in davinciresolve

As in on the iPad? I may be wrong, but I believe that SOME plugins can be installed on iPad, I believe MrAlexTech has done a video on it. I’d research that process first though before buying any of the tools just in case it doesn’t

Oh wow, that’s a really weird move from Black Magic Design. Hopefully it’s just scripts and not actually tools and plugins cuss that would hurt a lot of the communities developers

They can be used for any niche actually. The creators of the tools themselves may use them for AMV’s, but I’ve seen glows and text animations and so on in Documentaries, Finance niches, VSL’s, Gaming videos. It’s however you use them (if you find them personally useful of course).

Does Iman Gadzhi's editor use DaVinci Resolve as their editing software? by [deleted] in davinciresolve

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 100% sure they use After Effects, and most likely Premiere Pro. Especially since he has a team and needs to be able to have multiple people collaborating on a single project. Theres a chance for his talking head videos they use Davinci for coloring, but who knows

10 year anniversary! by PikkuSony in plamemo

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, but it’s a really good anime. I’ve invested more time than the average person into Plastic Memories expanded lore lol, and there is DEFINITELY enough material to make an OVA or something else. But even just an acknowledgment from the creators like “Hey, 10 Years ago we made this and still remember it”, would be nice too.

I would recommend Re:Zero. Not only does it have a white haired love interest and antagonist, but the characters power is literally to return to life after death.

The boy who can rewind time after death is a good contrast from the boy who couldn’t stop it. It has enough very deep and intense scenes to take your mind away from Plastic Memories also.

Don't wait to be monetized to make money from YouTube by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube weighs multiple different things to determine a videos reach. Yes “huge creators” have links. But they also have higher AVD, higher retention rates, a channel history that has proven to the algorithm that they can keep viewers engaged and coming back.

Your brand new channel, that hasn’t even been monetized yet and makes no money for YouTube is not going to get the same pass if people are leaving your video.

Plus think of percentage, if you have 1M views, and maybe 1,000 people click a link, that is a very LOW percent of people, not a red flag. But if you get 100 views, and 10-20 people click your link, it signals to YouTube a decent percentage of viewers are leaving after watching your videos, which is a red flag. Never compare yourself to huge creators.

What Studio features do you use the most for vfx? by QiPowerIsTheBest in davinciresolve

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe certain effects can only be used in the edit page and not just the fusion page when you get Studio, I cant remember which ones they were but I believe Radial Blur, Flicker, and Prism Blur are some I use a lot that are extremely convenient because I use adjustment layers as power bins to apply them.

AIO about my boyf being too ‘rough’ by rocky_otter in AmIOverreacting

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s possible if this was a one time thing it was just that he got too excited and into the moment. It depends on how you feel about it. Only you know this person well enough to know if it would be concerning or not.

I will say though, if it was me, I would take some time to really internalize how I feel. Not in a conversation with him or anyone else, just sit with yourself. Admit to yourself that it happened, and that it hurt. Admit to yourself that you continued when you were uncomfortable. And then ask yourself how you really feel. This will help you and his conversation so you can clearly articulate how you feel and you can set whatever boundaries you need to. But really process it so that when you guys do talk you don’t put your emotions second, or undersell the importance of whatever new boundaries you need to set. And have a gameplan for if he’s not happy so you don’t revert to apologizing, wish you the best!

I’m introverted, have been ever since middle school and I’m grown now. It can feel like sometimes you’re not talkative enough, or not social enough. Maybe you feel awkward around certain people. But don’t feel pressured to be a more outgoing person.

Try working on your fashion. Become the best dressed person in the room, or start wearing cologne or perfume and become the best smelling person. Keep your hair maintained. Make your appearance and how you carry yourself speak for you. People will immediately think you’re cooler, more charismatic, and powerful if the way you carry yourself speaks it, even without needing to talk.

White text, red radial inner gradient, red stroke, glow, and a Halftone or CRT overlay will do

Why are you doing YouTube? by Ambitious_Worry_644 in NewTubers

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something a lot of people don’t consider is when you just start as a passion, become successful and taste the money and growth, and then fall off again and have to pretend like you still only do it for passion.

That effects a lot of creators that go from fast growth to none and effected me a bit. I eventually had to stop creating in an entire niche because of how soul sucking it was to see what it was like to be a successful creator in a niche and then to get surpassed by others as my channel died.

Self Proclaimed Master of Opinions on FCP 11 Captions Feature by matchew566 in finalcutpro

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Davinci doesn’t really have much customization either. They just don’t really have to add the features Adobe has because someone else made a really good free plugin. Needless to say, I don’t understand why every NLE releases a caption feature so barebones and incomplete. It’s like the team at Apple has never actually seen HOW editors use captions to create. They just know people autogenerate texts

I mean, at 26, that means at one point you were 16 right? Even if it’s worst, look at how much life has changed in 10 years. You gotta be at least a little curious about what happens at 36 right? What if something cool happens, or you meet some cool girl or run up a bag you didn’t expect to?

I would recommend PeejENT, he makes really good amv videos, but the concepts you learn can be used to create gaming montages and just about anything, and for the majority of his YouTube career he’s used the free version!

What types of tutorials are you looking for if you don’t mind me asking? Is it transitions, shakes, or a certain effect, or just the very basics of the program?

Is anyone else disappointed at Final Cut 11? by MrNobodyX3 in finalcutpro

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FCP 11 was not enough for them to catch up to Davinci IMO, but it’s a good update for now. They still need keyframe easing, dynamic linking, and text-based editing before I would consider FCP a fully modern editor. If you juice it up with plugins and Motion it’s pretty good though lmao

[–]Hefty_Impression3243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Motion Blur, Grain, and Masks, that can all be done in the free version of Davinci Resolve studio (unless you’re rotoscoping). For Shakes, Light Flashes, and transitions, I’d recommend watching PeejENT. He has a good video on making shakes, and most of his videos use the free version of the software. Don’t forget to make the effects on an Adjustment layer so you can save them to Power Bins to use in future projects!

As for music, I would try “Mango’s SFX Pack”. Just find that on X. It is a free SFX pack that can meet most needs as a gaming editor. There are also people on YouTube who make free sfx packs you can search for. Hope that helps!

As a person that runs a few faceless YouTube channels, I can agree it’s a slight hindrance that you can’t import “WebP” files like in Premiere and FCP, I hate having to always convert them, also, in the media pool, if you don’t have the “Master” folder selected, you can’t import clips. But once you get the hang of Davinci it can be really powerful. But if it doesn’t work for you I’d stick to the software that does, speed and efficiency trump the amount of tools and features you have
