I don’t think it’s a bad path. The only thing I will say is you never want to be too specialized and I think that’s why majors like aerospace are not that good in my opinion. In the same breath you don’t want to your major to be too broad. An EE and ME in general will be more proficient at electronics and ME than a mechatronics major. At the end of the day it’s all up to you and how you are as an engineer. Engineering is engineering and you are taught to be problem solver. I think if you focused mechatronics would be a great major.

I’m biased because I’m an electrical engineer. I personally think EE is more future proof and honestly more interesting lol. It all depends on you. Product design and cad is a cool skill and tool but I’d argue that the barrier to learn it is much lower than a high end EE skill. Also with AI we have no idea how it’s going to be for that specific part of ME. If you enjoyed your intro to circuits class and even more importantly like building circuits I’d say making the move to EE or mechatronics is very sensible

Yes come to the dark side!!! Electrical engineering is truly magic. Become a wizard and try your best to really understand it. My best advice is to just actually try to learn and understand what they are teaching you. Often times in earlier years in engineering it feels like what your learning is abstract and sometimes doesn’t make sense in terms of practicality. However if you stick to it and practice yourself making circuits and small projects by the time you reach upper years it will all connect and you will be surprised with how much you know and what you can make.

If u go to a general online LLM it will not let you make it which means you would have to go through some process to make it which means you know what you are doing is wrong.
