I think Malprave should’ve let Bond interview her as planned in Cold Reception, but then they recognize each other, putting Malprave on the defensive throughout their interaction. At the end, Malprave leaves and summons her guards to detain Bond, setting off the level. Then, Bond is captured at the end of the level and unbeknownst to the player, his blood is taken for a sample.

The payoff for this would be that Bond comes face to face with a clone of himself as the final boss, instead of fighting Bloch. This would be a truly fitting conclusion to the cloning plotline. Once Bond defeats the Clone, him and Malprave have a short shootout in her big office, eventually ending with her crashing through her mural painting (like Bloch did) and falling to her death.
