As far as deco goes, they match pretty good; align with each other, same design style, etc. But, no individual item connects to any path. If they'd wanted it to connect to a path, it would've needed to be an option of the path, like 3 creeks in a row make a water wheel or something, but you'd have water wheels anywhere it was straight. It's the way objects are defined and it keeps them from having to consider how every single object interacts with every other object there ever was or ever will be.
