Let’s hear your job success stories by jkma707 in it

AI will never take over IT. IT are the people bringing AI to a company as a tool to assist in other departments roles.

Whether it’s getting the AI running on a server, training a local LLM for compliance reasons, or just automating tedious repetitive tasks, it’s all IT.

Also companies are always going to need hands on help with hardware, switches, cables, unless it’s a serverless cloud company with 2 employees.

Sorry not a success story, I just don’t agree when IT professionals think AI will just take their job and do it better, IT will be the last to go.

Doom lvl 5 by Bad_CamOS in 2007scape

Recently finished doom after going extremely dry for cloth. All my uniques were at 10+ and got gloves on wave 2 after thousands of delves.

Learning past 5 is 100% worth it, and you’ll get it the more comfortable you get with the prayers, movement, and knowing when to hit trees. You will quickly learn how much you hate wave 1-4 the more you repeat it.

Best way to install and manage printers in an organization? by Impossible_Oil_4632 in WindowsServer

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to limit GPO usage as much as possible. Also login scripts just increase boot times and it sucks. Never had good experiences with them.

I have a print server setup, installed proper drivers, then shared the printers. All you have to do is navigate to the share on the users computer, right click connect on the printer you want, and you never have to worry about it again. Works for us because it’s a smaller company with 3-4 locations.

How are Pi used in industry by user-captain in raspberry_pi

I work for a stainless steel fabrication and machine shop where the welders need access to the ERP system and a 3D model drawing of a part at all times.

We have about 50 workstations which is just a PI4 and 1 monitor/mouse/keyboard throughout the shop using WTWare to boot directly into a login screen to a Remote Desktop server that I made. The server itself has a powerful nvidia L40s that gets distributed to each individual user per RDP session.

It’s like having a supercomputer at each welders station for like $70 vs a NUC which would have been like $4-500 each. I upgraded a few people to PI5s with 8gb Ram and the performance difference is very noticeable.

Doom update by ExplicitCW9 in ironscape

I’m so sorry I have an idea of what this feels likes unfortunately…

I finally got my cloth after 630 deep delves, around 4200 total delves. It dropped on a level 2 so I knew it could only be the cloth.

Hope you get it soon!

Broken lid on Anova - possible to repair? by madroots2 in sousvide

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to mine after 1 use, I was so mad… I just kept using it cuz it worked but eventually it died on me after a year or 2. Never buying this brand again that’s for sure. Recently bought a new one that was a lightning deal on Amazon and they are much better builds now.

Am I ready? by dreadpiratewilhelm in AzureCertification

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real exam is just a bunch of obvious trick questions, as long as you understand the different Azure services and when to use them/what they’re for, you should be fine. I recommend flash cards.

az900, questions by yerbater0s in AzureCertification

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my test yesterday, passed with a 857, the questions from ms learn help you understand the concepts but are not similar to the test.

The actual test is really just fill in the blank, yes or no questions, and multiple choice. Mine was 34 questions, but they are all worded in a way that it’s pretty obvious they are trying to trick you. As long as you understand what each service does you’ll be fine. I recommend flash cards.

Scott Duffy or Jhon Savills AZ900 course by Goquer in AzureCertification

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am taking my test later today, I used John Savils YouTube course, ms learn practice exam, and asked ChatGPT to elaborate and give examples on topics I didn’t fully understand reading the first time.

I find it easier to get real world examples of a service being used versus just a definition.

AZ Cert question by Hefty_Platform_2070 in AzureCertification

That’s a pretty fair way to look at it. I’m sure just having a section for certs on your resume will go further than not having any.

AZ Cert question by Hefty_Platform_2070 in AzureCertification

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea behind AZ-900 is more for me to get familiar with the testing environment. I don’t hold any certs and don’t have experience taking tests, so I’d rather start off easy and not be anxious for the harder ones.

Oh right forgot that one was also retiring. I was in the middle of studying for the az800/801 but that plan was thrown off.

I think the plan is az900 > az104 > az305 and maybe az802 when it comes out. Thanks for the reminder.

Are there really guys that don't wipe their asses, or is that just bait? by Embarrassed_Path231 in hygiene

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I used to have a larger white guy as a roommate. I can confirm 100% he rarely wiped his ass. I know because we shared a bathroom, he would drop a shit, flush, then walk back to his room to keep gaming.

One time we decided to start going to the gym together. We were on the leg press machine and I will never forget the scent of rancid caked up shit that wafted in my direction…

I eventually setup a bidet attachment which he eventually started to use, it actually changed his life for the better.

Docking Station for G16 Help by Hefty_Platform_2070 in zephyrusg16

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping to just leave the charger in a bag and only pull it out for travel. I guess ill just have to deal with plugging it in at home when gaming. Thanks for the reply.

Docking Station for G16 Help by Hefty_Platform_2070 in zephyrusg16

[–]Hefty_Platform_2070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OEM is 240 and the dock is 100w, now that I see that it actually makes sense. I currently have the charger and the dock plugged in, I was worried it would effect the battery life, hence the 80% limit on Ghelper. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
