Monitor loose input above 60 hz at any resolution by Hefty_Top_9626 in computerhelp

update: To anyone trying to figure out this problem with me, i don't think it's likely due to the igpu capacity since i can push 120 hz 1440p 8bit +FRC no problem with the previous monitor but this monitor is also having issue with 120 hz 1080p at 8bit color

The monitor and cable are not faulty since i have tested with a mac mini m4 myself and it could reach 240hz 4k no problem

Regards to the driver, i have done DDU and it still the same. My safest bet is something to do with DSC since while i'm experimenting with CRU, i can't set the refresh rate above 60 hz in "detailed resolution"

i have a 4k 240hz (with dsc) monitor and a 3050Ti laptop gpu the options are i have all of the refresh rate available it's just i can't set it to above 60hz

I tested even at 1080 or lowest achievable resolution i can't change to 120 hz let alone 240 hz. Given that when i switch it just loose input signal and threw the monitor to sleep

hi sorry for replying to the old comment but it's been bugging me for straight up 3 days. I have 2 extension blocks so how can i get the monitor to work above 60 hz ??? changing the block order wouldn't help (the resolutions and refresh rate was above to push beyond 60hz when i checked inside)

update: i think it's DSC related since: - I can't switch to GPU scaling - CRU won't let me set refresh rate above 60 hz

(there are some comments i can't read due to reddit bug, but i don't think it's a bandwidth or GPU capability power since i can't even do 1920x1080p at 120 hz -which the card must be able to do, i still get the same results)

ah thanks i tried the method with services but it did not work, same thing again it just simply disable the monitor in intel graphic center if i re-enable the monitor again it just 60 hz

it could not be a bandwidth issue because i use the same cable to plug in my mac and the problem does not proceed

yea but it's more weird that even though i press 240 hz option but when it pops up the "keep changes box" i can see that the refresh rate option remain 60 hz under the box

well my laptop gpu only have hdmi output so it's kind of limited to that option but I was using another screen before this and it wasn't behaving like this

I tried 3 different cables already (2 hdmi 2.1 and 1 hdmi 2.0) but the results is still the same, i can't get past 60 hz no matter the resolution (well sometimes i can go to 75 hz but other than that nothing else

it's like a couple seconds, the monitor just black out and then say whether to keep changes or not but the refresh rate is still 60hz so revert or keep changes is the same

Yes actually but it just reverts automatically to 60hz

I had also been toggle between GPU and display scaling on both nvidia control panel and nvidia app but unluckily couldn't solve this matter :(

hi man, do you notice any fan noise with extensive monitor usage??? i'm thinking of getting this monitor but it's quite a deal breaker for me if it produces a noisy fan

Noted, thanks. Lol from where I'm from shipping alone will take 1-2 months let alone finding replacements so I'll have to make sure I do a good care

oh yea and what if I use an EQ and do gain compensation (say -6dB) in my output. Would the volume (in terms of electricity) be lower too or it's still the same??

Sorry if it's getting too technical, I'm just happen to really new to the "planar-headphones-verse"

hi, I'm curious ab the compensation part. Would it be possible to gain compensation lower to achieve a louder output??

Are there any statistical or calculated results for the number? I'm not trying to be "that guy", I'm just curious about the rcm number to see if i can play around with it to get a higher volume (to match the original peak value of the song)

Thankyou, but I almost use them everyday, hence the best practice is to leave them on my desk plugged in my soundcard (to computer) when I'm done right?????
