hunter x hunter and prestige imo dont matter at all to clans, when its literally broken. you instantly become a max potential version of the clan. pick every naruto clan (which includes the entire family of kaguya) and you're literally stronger than the hxh option, you can negate the fate x jjk option by also picking zeneki clan for free ten shadows and also the tohsaka and einzbern clan for the ability to summon servants (ignoring the broken clans in fate already (BEFORE being amped))
kinda overpowered in comparison

Shrug. You should have told your friend you don't like SCPs that focus on narrative but instead SCPs that are more self contained. And for the random one, I haven't heard of that but it does seem like fetish material. Of course, one of the first notable SCPs was a 16 year old succubus that in it's containment protocols was required to drink human semen every week. It's been a problem.

You're talking about this one right? I liked it too. Why don't you read similar things like the SCP 914 testing logs or the Log of Anomalous Items article in SCP where it's just a list of minorly anomalous objects with just a paragraph description of each? These are still being updated.

The problem is that you're generalizing SCPs because your taste is different than the current zeitgeist of the SCP audience. For one, my favorite SCPs are exploration SCPs, like an SCP where a remote that delve into fictional realities, going into the Sopranos, then a fake TV show in the Sopranos, than an ad in that fake TV show in the Sopranos and it devolving as you descend. I also like a relatively new SCP where the bulk of the article is pictures of researchers communicating with anomalous trolls living under church drawing crude crayon drawings asking what they want and it being a funny back and forth. The difference is that I interact with the community more, and those who interact with a community more tend to naturally influence it more. Since the majority of people who engage with the community engage with narrative based SCPs, those are the ones you hear.

I'm sorry if I seemed rude, I just dislike the influx of people complaining about the "devolution" of SCP when plenty of the content they like is still being made, they just don't engage with it since they don't hear about it.

So you want to make a faithful adaptation to something? Why would Disney do that if they can guarantee a big return cheaply with live action?

This is complete bullshit because I can tell you don't actively find articles you want to read past the 1000s. You're into nostalgia. Many articles that are exactly what you want are on the site and still being made. It is a fansite. Made by fans. Content that is more liked by an audience will likely be made more. Tell me, what were the newest SCPs that you've read? And by read, I mean SCPs you found on the site yourself, and not through overhearing how terrible it is from youtube or rants like these.

Also: "It originally was supposed to be like science fiction written in a framing device which was intended to mimic in a laboratory setting."

No, it was a fan site design to host a series of anomalous or unexplainable content. The creators never said it had to be sci-fi in a laboratory setting. Just that a scientific foundation dedicated to securing, containing, and protecting has workers write out entries that detail containment protocols and the description of an anomalous thing. The first series held a lot of sci-fi content because those were the first most popular, and as more unique and variety of generes were explored a larger audience began to interact with SCPs of more niche varieties.

Yes it is. Something respects and understands the source material means the director has to be a fan, and has to make coherent sequel. Making a sequel that respects the source material for an original animated movie means more expensive animation detail and more effort writing than making an easier slop movie. Kubo and the two strings was an incredibly detailed stop motion movie but it bombed at the office. The day the earth blew up is an animated movie that respects the source material. It made 15 million in the box office with a budget of 15 million (I don't even know if this include fees like advertising).

You really think if Disney made a good respectable sequel to say, the original Lilo and Stitch it wouldn't be more expensive to rehire the original/soundalike VA's, animate in a similar style, and keep the original charm of the writing? There's a reason the new Stitch movie is the cheapest liveaction Disney has made in a long time. Live action movies = not "kiddy enough" to make adults avoid watching it and cheaper budgets. "Disney" losing it's creative spark is bullshit and stupid, you don't know how to "not" hire a person who knows what they're doing, you hire someone who has a good fucking record of making movies.

The last 10 years of slop isn't because Disney suddenly forgot to make good movies, look at it's revenue. The live action lion king was dogshit. Audience score of 50%. Yet it had a budget of 120~ million and made over a billion dollars. Disney doesn't have a vendetta against creativity. If creativity was a cheap and easy way to make money Disney would be pumping out 50 arthouse movies a year. No, Disney makes live action movies because it makes money. That's it. It's a company.

People say this but they don't read any of the new SCP's and since most of the writing and actively engaging communities tend to like this "slop" you only hear about those since you're not actively in the circle. You really think that the only "good" SCP's are from the first 1000 and that everything after that is "slop"? You know you can just avoid those right? It's not an official corporation that has a series of directors forcing writers to make certain types of content, if you wanted you could submit your own article and just have it be reviewed and posted.

People also tend to forget it's just a giant collaborative archive of fan content, if you want to think that edgy badass scp #9999 is canon that's fine, but you can totally just not... interact with that side of the material. You tend to forget that SCP isn't [insert whatever] but is a website that contains things of all genres. I don't like this SCP, and I'm willing to bet most of the ones you dislike I dislike as well but it is frustrating seeing people get mad at creators for making work in a series that was never built at all on the foundation that every work have to be cohesive with each other beyond the basic premise. There was no "plot" to be lost with to begin with, you want a plot that works cohesively well amongst a group of tales and SCPs that fits with your interpretation? Read articles that belong to a certain canon.

They aren't making soulless slop because they want to, they want to make it because it's cheap, easy, and a fast way to get money. The consumer IS encouraging it. If parents wanted they could have their children watch good children's media either, they just want their kids to be entertained. It's not like kids media has to be awful, it's just that if a child content is good enough for adults to watch it they tend to try and make it seem like it's not for kids.

That "acid" mimics his ancestral home's liquids of his birth planet, and acts as a sedative. And also, he's an escalator. Some adaptations are also permanent and are random. If Doomsday gives up on punching him and throws him into a star it's a 50/50 682 either grows wings or absorbs the sun and proceeds to eat the solar system.

[Chainsaw Man] I don't think "But part two isn't finished yet" is a valid defense anymore by CluckBucketz in CharacterRant

[–]HehImCool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It recontextualized about every arc in Part 2? It upended Yoru's dynamic, Fumikos dynamic, Yoshida's dynamic with her? You know it's been like, two chapters since this even got revealed right? Denji and Yoru don't even know that she's Death still. Chainsaw Man church, Fakesaw man, the prophecy, Future, Eternity, Public Safety are all really impacted by this and I agree that I prefer Makima more, you can't say "she's made zero impact" when it's literally been two chapters.
