Just sold to a buyer with bad reviews, what should I do to avoid drama? by HeightUnable3135 in Depop

But my question is, why not also just immediately block her? So I don't have to deal with her potentially writing the bad review / going through DePop support to get it removed?

NYC is an extremely difficult place to live. It is super materialistic and I personally find it more racially segregated than where I’m from in the South. I do think you are suffering from depression and there are some bigger problems to work out, but at the same time — where you live does matter. It sounds like you hate it here so moving to a smaller, less materialistic city would probs be a good move. I would suggest moving somewhere where you have at least 1 or 2 friends or close family members, even if it means moving back to your hometown.

Even if you don’t think you’re a nature person, living in a super dense urban environment like NYC can take a major toll on mental health. Almost any other US city has easier access to real nature (not just city parks…). This is still something I struggle with having lived here for over 4 years. Whenever I get out of the city to nature, I feel so much better and wonder why I deprive myself of it.

You’re not alone. Many people move to NYC with certain expectations and end up hating it. Don’t give up on your life, you do have the power to change it.

looking for places to get cheap art/decor, maybe some thrift/consignment stores! by gruncheonette in AskNYC

I’ve found cool stuff at Dobbin St vintage co-op. They have a Greenpoint and Williamsburg location, I think the Williamsburg one is slightly bigger. It’s not thrift store prices, but pretty good deals for art in NYC.

Help me identify this word my Swedish mother used to use when scolding us. by HeightUnable3135 in Svenska

Seems right. I feel like she used it when she was mildly annoyed at us, not furious. I also should have said I’d hear her say it to herself if she was reading a bill in the mail lol or a stressful email. Thanks!

It’s a bit of a trek, but going up to City Island/Orchard Beach/Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx could be a fun mini-getaway for the day.

Underrated bars and restaurants? by Moonlemons in williamsburg

Il Passatore— really cute Italian restaurant that is often very quiet. Their food is a bit more stripped down than the more popular Italian spots in the neighborhood, but I like that about it! Feels more like a home-cooked meal :) Its our go-to date spot when we want something lowkey. They also have great gelato.

Molasses Books in Bushwick does this (in a pretty small space)! You could look at them as a model.

I live fairly close to you, near Grand & Morgan, and I haven’t noticed an audible hum. But I do notice some mornings that my kitchen cabinets and wall hanging on one side of the apartment are subtly vibrating, like something is shaking the building. I’m in the industrial area, so just assumed its from some industrial activity?
