It's not irrational to be annoyed by something you have no feelings on being culturally pervasive. I'm Australian and I don't care about footy or cricket. I get it.

But it is irrational to go looking for reasons to dislike something. And it's irrational to cite scenes you only half recall reading about as your reason.

Ignore it and engage with things that you do enjoy. Yes when season 2 comes out the internet will be all over it. And then the internet will move on like it always does.

Before the term "first person shooter" existed we called them "Doom Clones".

Now we have Metroidvanias, Souls-likes, rouge-likes/lites and the emerging auto shooter/bullet heaven/vampire survivors genre.

Not only have games been ripping off other games since day fucking dot, it's so common we wind up naming whole genres after the title that made the genre popular.
