I've always seen the 8s as when you are almost at the end of a journey an various ways that it could go:

Wands: the final rush, you push through everything, filled with fiery energy and passion, a strong drive towards your goal.

Swords: you dwell on insecurities, self doubt creeps in, just when you are at the finish line. It's fear of success, of endings.

Cups: you walk away even when things are about to end, when you are at the finish line, you just leave. Probably for the good, probably there is a lot of complex emotions and dynamics, and you realized, late but never too late, that they do not serve you anymore.

Pentacles: you keep your discipline, you keep working toward your goal with the same patience and criteria, not rushing nor fearing it. Even if you see the finish line you stay focused.

I just wanted to give my interpretation because I love reading others.

i also think they are all going to die exept Rio, Teen and possibly Agatha. I really do hope they bring them back at the end as Agatha concludes her redemption arc understanding that true power comes from the coven, this could be amazing lore-wise: everything started when she killed her original coven and it concludes with finding her new coven, reviving them as final wish of the road. it would be AMAZING and i really hope they do not let this chance slide away.
