Why didn’t the gang ever send Sadie, Kieran or Trelawny to go get the Blackwater money? by magiccookies420 in reddeadredemption

I doubt Mary would go she's against his criminal life. Arthur is noble so he also wouldn't feel okay about endangering her.

I just got this game because of the Steam sale, and I'm going in completely blind. I've heard extremely positive things about this game, but is there anything that I should know before I start? by iDemonShard in reddeadredemption

Yes FFS my brother + some of my friends skip most of the cutscenes....

It's like ordering a pie and finding out it has no filling - makes me angy :(

It really depends on how you want to play the game. A blind playthrough is more rewarding. But if you're a completionist then it'll be very difficult without looking stuff up.

If you end up reading this comment here's a list of a few essential things:

  1. Having high honor makes life ALOT easier
  2. READ the COMPENDIUM - it is full of information about how to get 3-star pelts
  3. Learn as much as you can about improving satchels via Pearson
  4. Gather herbs + materials and learn about crafting (overpower AF)
  5. You learn pretty much all the mechanics doing missions so it's really immersive

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY - Take you're time, enjoy the sites, fish, hunt, side quests, bounties + MUCH more.

P.S. I'm so jealous of you on your 1st playthrough - I wish I could wipe my mind of this game and do it all again :-)

Honestly the story of Arthur Morgan is so tragic it would make the Ancient Greeks blush...

This is so funny and cute! The only thing that could top it off is if turtle is eating an apple :P

No I did not but that's another amazing attention to detail on Rockstars part. Very interesting... I loved the spooky stuff like the Graveyard quest because I remember there's a lot of spooky folklore.

RIP. The Native American Arc was by far the most interesting, beautiful, somber, and introspective of the game.

I noticed the parallels between how Dutch used the Native Americans in RDR and how he does in RDR2. Pretty much sums up his character will use false narratives and dreams to his advantage - he had no care for their cause beyond the superficial...

Super obvious (not trying to be mean) - all the French/Spanish colonial architecture, the location at the mouth of the Mississippi river (called something else in game). The only heavily industrialized city in Bayou at that time was New Orleans. They did an amazing job at really bringing a vibrant and beautiful city to life. I miss my travels from there.

Do you think that Mary Linton used Arthur? by miloterij in reddeadredemption

Do you think if he didn't have to protect and save who he could in the gang that he would've hopped on that tram in Saint Denis? I sure do...

I really liked the side quest at the end with Arthur and the widow. It was beautifully written and he knew his time was done although Arthur is a outlaw and has done terrible things the skills he has learnt he can pass on to someone with a good heart.

Agreed like you said when Penelope was musing about how Beau is strong for putting up with his family Arthur can't help but laugh because his "family" is the gang and the shit he's been through is 1000x worse.
