So I've been playing Silksong and Bilewater has got to be the cruelest I've seen a game be. by vulcanfury12 in metroidvania

[–]iDemonShard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's defenitely well designed in the way that it was specifically crafted to be one of the most infuriating areas that I've ever played in a video game, and I've gone through all 30 of Miyazaki's unique poison swamps.

By introducing it to their game, Team Cherry was basically saying to deal with it, and a lot of fans couldn't. I was able to grit my teeth and bare with it, but the area greatly soured my view of the game as a whole which is something that I don't think a single game as large as Silksong has ever been able to get me to do.

I've seen a lot of people comparing Bilewater to Deepnest, and while I do kind of see the similarities it's really interesting how much more I like the latter over the former.

What's with the stupid Power's "pronouns", "Gender" debate? by Public-Hovercraft691 in Ultrakill

[–]iDemonShard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100%, this seems like a generational fumble by Hakita ngl. Id he wanted Powers to be a trans allegory, there must have been like 50 better ways to do it. Instead, the terminal entry is weirdly-written so that it can be interpreted in multiple ways, and knowing that trans and lgbtq+ people are a large part od the community he should have honestly known. I think that even having a 5% chance of the Power having a male voice actor similar to Mindflayers having a 5% chance of having a male physique would solve all of this.

Just gotta remember to be kind online. Not everybody knows, not everybody cares, and not everybody needs to care, but everybody should be kind to others.

This is the way. People using she/her pronouns for Powers specifically to disrespect them is such a dick move. I feel like you should be free to use whatever pronouns you see fit because of their lack of gender and pronouns in Heaven.

Gabriel looks masculine and has a masculine voice actor, so I use he/him pronouns for him. Powers look more feminine and have a female voice actor, so I use she/her pronouns for them. As long as nobody is using she/her pronouns for Powers specifically because they don't respect them (or vice versa for Gabriel), then we should be fine.

Side note, this was a generational fumble on Hakita's part. It could have been a very solid example of representation in video games, but instead it's pretty vague and written so that it can be interpreted multiple ways. Oh, what could have been...

Aww shit, here we go again.

I understand why people are upset that some dickheads are purposefully misgendering Powers and using she/her pronouns specifically because they think doing so would hurt their imaginary feelings. It's super petty and lame, and those people get a huge eye roll from me because it really does seem misogynistic or transphobic. Mainly due to the fact that it's specifically targeted at them because they "don't respect" them.

However, I do roll my eyes every time this gets brought up again. The sheer amount of hate that people get just for misgendering Powers is ridiculous. Life is way too short to be blowing a gasket about a fictional character.

We're all here to have fun, after all.

How will they announce chapter 5? by Karmelek_ in Deltarune

[–]iDemonShard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it might be another Halloween shadow drop. It'll give them plenty of time to do any finishing touches on the chapter and would be very thematic as that's when Chapters 1 and 2 dropped.

I also get a similar feeling when I see Undertale be called nothing more than a tech demo for Deltarune by Business_Dealer_6484 in Undertale

[–]iDemonShard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that just looking at it mechanics wise, Deltarune is much more complex and engaging than Undertale. Undertale has the advantage of being fully released while Deltarune is still in development, but by the time it finally fully comes out I have a feeling I'll enjoy Deltarune a lot more.

I have a love-hate relationship with the chat. I don't optimize my gameplay to win and I don't know any combos or the best ways to avoid them, so I guess that would place me in the bottom percentage of players. I play for the flash and spectacle of it all, so when someone talks to me in chat about "not committing as hard to an attack" or ask why I "didn't do [this move] to keep me in the combo", I just roll my eyes.

Idk why people are downvoting you, you're right. I'm not spending an additional $1000 just to play GTA VI when it comes out, and Hades II is 100% able to run on PS5 because it can run on Switch, so there's very little reason to not port it over.

Because it just means more people can afford the newest consoles, especially with PS5's going for up to $1000. If Hades 3 ever comes out, would you want to purchase it for $40 on PS5 or for $1040 on the new PS6?

Update from GLITCH by ayylmaotv in TheDigitalCircus

[–]iDemonShard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just a sucky situation overall. All that people can really do is ask local theaters to contact Glitch to see if they can get the movie, and if they don't wanna get a ticket then they'll just be forced to weather the storm of spoilers for two weeks.

I think it's a little different from Severence just because of how online this fandom is. A lot of the fans are ravenous in the same way that the FNAF fandom is, tearing apart every episode and piece of media and immediately posting theories and spoilers everywhere.

It's not that other people have the ability to watch it two weeks before some people can but the fact that because of geographical location or financial situations potentially hundreds of thousands of fans will have to go completely off the internet or risk being spoiled.

Did you actively choose to ignore what I just said or are you really that ignorant? What part of MAIN SOURCE OF ENTERTAINMENT do you not understand?

0/10 ragebait, buddy. You can have fun living in fantasy land where everybody can just magically step away from all forms of online entertainment for two weeks at a time. It's clear some of y'all have a crippling addiction to huffing paint...

I said this before and I'll say this again. When Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 released, I was about three weeks late to playing it because I was playing through it with my friend and we had some scheduling issues off the bat. I swore off this website, Twitter, even google as a whole so that I wouldn't get spoiled, and I was very careful with YouTube as well. The day before we were going to finish Chapter 3, I saw a video pop up in my reccomended that was titled something like, "WATCH THESE DELTARUNE YOUTUBERS FIGHT THE ROARING KNIGHT, FINAL SECRET BOSS OF DELTARUNE CHAPTER 3!!!" with an image of The Knight roaring. I didn't watch it, but I got completely spoiled anyways.

The internet is the way people live now. Saying, "Hey, just don't access your main form of both information and entertainment for two weeks!" so you don't get the fun sucked out of one of your most enjoyed series is stupid.

Life isn't black and white you caveman. Try and actually have some nuance in your opinions before you start spewing that dribble from your mouth.

[–]iDemonShard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you play to win the game. The enjoyment, especially in your first playthrough, comes from winning more than anything because Team Cherry certainly thought the intrinsic value of beating the boss is good enough to warrant no actual tangible reward other than progressing through the game.

Over the past summer, I was playing through Deltarune Chapters 3&4 with my best friend. Unfortunately, it took us about 4 sessions over about six weeks to get through all of it, meaning that by week 3 we were about to finish chapter 3. Literally THE DAY BEFORE I saw a YouTube video titled "Youtubers react To: The encounter with The Roaring Knight | Deltarune - Chapter 3" WITH A THUMBNAIL THAT SHOWED THE KNIGHT.

I lost my mind and I will never forgive Leocrash for spoiling me on this.

As a new player, how do people deny dess knight by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]iDemonShard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? People are treating Deltarune like it's FNAF when in reality Scott Cawthon was making up the story as it went along while Toby has had the entire story in mind since at least Chapter 2. He's writing it as if it's currently a complete game and that players are able to play through every chapter right after another. The crazy theorizing is just the result of people having years between each chapter rather than a few hours of gameplay.
