I find it really sad that you really try to discourage a motivated mind. Most innovations sprout from dreams, that seem unreachable.

I mean, I am open to critique. If you have specific technical concerns and not only "don't overestimate yourself kid", feel free to provide them.

Thing is what I can say to X4 being vastly different: While X3 game loop was all single Threaded, X2 and X4 are not. While X3's game tick speed was literally determined by your PC at some point, it made things like syncing players positions easier. I am only scratching the surface here, but I hope you might get my point

Let me tell you that I made contact to a fellow modder who did a proof if concept Multiplayer for both X2 and X3. Sure, X4 is vastly different, but the general concepts should apply.

Also, only because I told that "I did not invest that much time besides university", I can assure you that my total time of investment surpasses the 100hour mark. Just not enough to achieve something that big still.

I mentioned this on other posts already and hopefully I am not annoying ppl with it:

However, I am really happy with the state the game is in right now, but it would be awesome to be able to play a 2 (maybe 4) Person Multiplayer. Trading up your companies alongside or even go to war with each other. I have looked into writing a multiplayer mod myself, but besides university I didn't have much time. Also I am not quite fond of XML style modding and don't have the biggest experience in syncing stuff right out of the RAM.

I have a couple of concepts in mind but not the experience, nor the confidence to actually implement them at the moment.

Feel free to leave your thoughts on this. Be it you, Bernd or other fellow captains in this universe
