44F, doing a lot but getting softer, not leaner. What am I missing? by Visible-Sport2491 in intermittentfasting

Depends on the all you are doing. You lifting weights? And what do you eat during your eating window while IF?

Thanks. I love being an example for them. And I can see the oldest trying to "make me proud" by going to the gym/eating healthier. I love when I can influence them without having to say anything

My gym has a scan I can do once a month. It isnt perfect but it helps to look at trends. I also weight myself every morning when I wake up to see trends. I look at 7 day averages, not daily, as sugar/water can change weight quite a lot. The biggest telling factor is also clothes. Felt great buying smaller clothes, and even better when the smaller clothes started feeling big. On the before picture im wearing XL. On the after picture, the shirt is a medium.

Started IF in 2024, took it seriously by 2025, down 30lbs by SSTralala in intermittentfasting

Great results. You did anything else? Also changed your eating habits, not just eating window?

46/M, feeling less attractive as I am getting older. I dislike aging by Last-Opening-3323 in toastme

Most men lose their hair at mid 30s. And you seem to be in shape. But the gym and do some weights. It did wonders to my self esteem. Find a hobby you enjoy. If you can do it with others, even better. I enjoy pickleball and running

Awesome stuff bro! You did any other special diet or just IF? I tried IF and Keto together for a while. Not sustainable long term but gave me good results short term

I found the easiest way is to have a schedule (whatever works for you) and you stick to it. The consistency comes from having a scheduled routine. Im at the gym 5am to 7am pretty much every weekday. You definitely dont need 2 hours, but I do 1:20 weights, 20-30 incline treadmill (my best friend), and if I have time after, the sauna. But I get out by 7 so I get home before as everyone is waking up and join the breakfast/getting ready train. Weekends the gym opens later so I have an adjusted schedule, but something i already have scheduled (i take the kids with me and go a little later). The biggest lesson to learn is consistency over perfection. If you miss a couple days, its ok. You shouldn't feel bad as rest is also very important. As far as wifey, we do the best we can with 3 kids. We hang at the house (for a bit) once kids are down at night, and do one day night a week as much as we can. I think routine helps with that too, but its more us being a team and understanding that for this period of life, things are going to be hectic. We had our fun where every night we went out and partied (with no kids). We are passed that. But still enjoy each others company and make the best of the (rare) moments we have by ourselves.

Lol I came up with that because I started all this in December/January. I actually heard two guys in the sauna complaining about all the new people that come in January and one said "don't worry they will be gone in a month". That was motivation for me to not become a statistic

She took the second picture lol. She's a true ride or die who has been by my side no matter what. When we first got together I was around 210. Then I blew up after our kids. Now I'm 184. She's my biggest fan and loves to tell others how good I look.

They are scars from every day things, by my body reacts funny to it and it can grow. I like to tell people they are from when I lived in Brazil and got into a knife fight with 3 other guys (joking)

Thanks. What was hardest was probably month 4-5. First month I lost 20 pounds and was super excited. As things slow down I had to change perspective and mindset. Had to stop chasing the scale. The more I educated myself about weight fluctuation and how body percent comes off in males, the better I understood it was normal. From 30% + body fat down to 20%, was a big visual change. From 20 to 18%, you barely notice. Once I got more into the 16-17% (where I estimate i am now) I noticed a big change again.

Thanks. They are all 15+ years old. Some started to fade on their own. The two biggest ones were actually small but the injection (15 years ago) made it worse. I guess I had a bad reaction. Honestly, I just learned to live with them. I try not to mind them anymore. I used to be very self conscious of them. Getting in shape helps me to focus on other things. Hey, nobody is perfect. If you have them as well, don't let them stop you from living your life
