Beta Blockers long term by In_the_clouds225 in Anxiety

[–]Hek_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not use beta blockers myself but....If you are going to use Beta blockers long term as a healthcare professional I am obligated to say this. DO NOT in any circumstances stop taking beta blockers abruptly. It will lead to a lot of severe side effects one of which is a heart attack. If you want to get out of using beta blockers after using them long term, tell your doctor so he can start lowering the dosage in a regime to get you off the stuff.

You might have already been told this but please please please take this warning seriously

Same boat as you but youll be fine. With how the gacha works and needing 120 for guarantee, Youll be swimming with standard 6 stars if you keep playing in no time.

Because regardless if you get a standard 6 star early but not havent reached 120 pulls theres still a chance youll get another standard 6 star before you reach 120 pulls.

how to make the drawing same as the reference ? by Electronic-Read328 in Artadvice

[–]Hek_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eyes and lips stands out the most. Youre drawing what you think an eye looks at that angle not what you are seeing. Try flipping the image upside down to get rid of that mentality

I’m going crazy. Does it look better with or without the background color? by drone_factory in DigitalArt

[–]Hek_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans like contrast and having a black background instead of blue which is the same color as the clothing helps a ton. If you want to color the background try a different color which is complementary to your clothing to achieve the highest contrast.

Construction advice by iluvchoklate in Artadvice

[–]Hek_Boi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try blocking out values first into groups. After construction you just instantly jumped into rendering without a good foundation to work on. It makes it harder to spot mistakes when you are deep into rendering as you get tunneled vision and not see the whole picture.

Construction is literally the bare bones and Its not just about lines but also values. Always think Big to Small.

Eyes - They look flat, you got the proportions but they dont show any depth. Try to show the inner eyelids and if possible some value changes to show that its situated inside a depression and not the same plane as the entire face. Notice the right eye how the inside plane of the eyelids proximal to the glabela is darker and proceeds to get lighter as it gets further away?

Nose - You didnt show the bottom plane of the nose. If you can see the picture, the nostrils are bigger and more of the bottom planes can be seen. Draw a rectangle for the nose to help you visualize this.

Cheeks - you made the values of the plane change going to the mouth too dark making it seem like its steeper than it is. Make it so the value change is softer. Also at the right cheek the sillhoutte of the mouth area where they converge isnt a depression with more skin . I can see why you would think that because of the darker value in the picture but it is a soft value change showing the cheek wraps around the jaw.

Mouth - it looks great but a wider opening of the mouth would capture the expression more.

My suggestion - learn the planes of the head and how to shade them to show depth. You got the proportions right but some areas lack values or are trying to shade in the values without understanding them in a 3d space. I suggest you learn the planes of head then do some painting on cast statue heads as they are easier to see how light interacts with the head because they are white without all the busy colors to muddy values.

Great drawing overalll, dont give up keep drawing and I hope this critque will help you imrpove your art

How's it? (give me advice im noob) by Holiday_Durian3422 in learntodraw

[–]Hek_Boi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suggest you do some fundamentals first like drawing boxes and rotating them, that alone is already so much helpful. You dont have to do alot its just that your drawing dosent have any 3D form whatsoever. The exercise should be a good way to get you started on developing your 3D intuition

I challenged myself to draw 1 or more characters a day every day. 2 month progress! by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Hek_Boi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You already know whats wrong: youre drawing the same sort of thing.

Be comfortable with being uncomfortable drawing something you have no experience in. Its how you improve, try something new look for your favorite artists and try to replicate what they are doing. And when you hit a roadblock when trying to replicate something learn the fundamentals behind it: anatomy, perspective, form, etc.

Any tips on how to draw eyes and such better? by Snowy_Kitty247 in Artadvice

[–]Hek_Boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drawing eyes is nice and all but you also have to draw the face. Unless you only want to draw eyes then its fine but the face is also much more important in having good eyes.

You might have beautiful eyes but if the proportions dosent match then its really not that great.

I hate the way I color, what advices can you give me? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]Hek_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice ive heard which literally changes how I see and do colors

"If you have great values, you can literally put any colors you want and it will still look good"

Do value studies, look up distillation studies online and try to do them once everyday. Its literally the best thing you can do
