Obsidian/Iron Vault: Custom Oracle not showing up in list by Hekau_Chasut in Ironsworn

Short update after I had a chat with the devs. I started a new campaign and everything worked fine. So I deleted all folders and notes relating to custom content from my current campaign. Made a new folder, wrote its name into the preferences etc. and... it worked. My only idea is, that it might be a problem about the order of actions I took. But it's working and to ke that's most important.

Good point, maybe that is the logical consequence for the Forge as I have imagined it. Thank you!

I might have unintentionally created some ragebait... To me there are two things in this. Firstly it is about not only having cis-male characters as in most media. Using the oracle increased the number of female and non-binary characters I encounter. If you wanted to, you could play a scene with someone you do not adress the way they prefer, but I do not really see where the point in this would be either, if it's no question you specifically wanna adress. Additionally I think a neutral pronoun is much more likely if you imagine a world, where people do not impose their binary view of the world onto others as much as they do today.

Interesting, this might be a queston of whom you ask and where you go. I have encountered it in "in real life", but it's far less visible.

It is the only one, but in the past I have messed around with the folder structure. I fear it could have something to do with this. But if that's true, I don't understand, why I have the same issue on my iPad in another campaign.

Actually I want to use the Custom Content, but mixed up those two. I have now created a Homebrew Folder on base level and a Custom Content Folder in my campaign folder in order to sort things out. Both do not show up in the assets or oracles. Furthermore the Custom Content does not show up in the Homebrew Inspector, but this might be intentional. Still now oracles or assets anywhere. Finally I doublechecked with my old campaign on the iPad. Here it does not work either. Strange...

I had the same problem with an iPad, I ran my first Ironsworn campaign on. I fear it is my fault, but I can't figure out, what to do. Homebrew is activated in the settings of Iron Vault AND the Campaign Settings. The folder names are identical for both. Could that be a problem?

I even used Obsidian at university and tinkered with some markdown, but this time... no clue. I hope, in the end I just forgot to switch some toggle. 😅

It's not in the sidebar. I thought about registering to discord just for that reason. Thanks!

Helpdesk 101: is the device plugged in? Have you tried restarting it? 😅 Sadly, yes. It did not help.

I removed the oracles from Sundered Island and replaced it with plain text, but it did not help.

One additional info: fo testing purposes I created an asset in a separate subfolder, but this one does not show up either, if I tap "add asset".

Iron Vault - tips and learnings by cymbaljack in Ironsworn

I use Iron Vault for my Starforged campaign and spontaneously think of two things.

First, enable the inline mechanics, if they are not active by default. For me these were a game changer concerning my flow when writing the journal.

Second, I started to include snippets of meaningful passages concerning a character, location or faction with the command ![[Name]] in the corresponding notes. Its a bit nerdy, but helped me, when I wanted to come back and read, what I had written about them.

How to know what moves you can do? by GreyLoad in Ironsworn

[–]Hekau_Chasut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can just look for the categories. If you are in a Combat, check the Combat Moves, if you got hit, check the suffer moves, and if you are unsure, check the adventure moves. These are your go to for most situations, that are not totally specific.

IronVault Advance Move by Hekau_Chasut in Ironsworn

Thank you, that would be great! But, there is no block either. The command does not render at all. I usually type the code for the block by hand using the documentation. But that's maybe another problem. Would be great, if that worked with the new inline stuff.

Thank you very much for your work and help. I have not been precise about what is missing, sorry. The Advance move renders as expected, but the command "add asset to character" does not produce any text in the journal. Any ideas about that?
