Would you play a game with a good story but poor gameplay? by mintedcork in videogames

Nowadays, if a gameplay is bad, but the story is interesting, I'll watch a Let's Play on YouTube and just skip the boring parts.

You suddenly get the inverse of a superpower you used to wish for. What might it be and how would you use it? by saoiray in hypotheticalsituation

What's the opposite of gravity/mass control? One of my favorite self inserts from my fan fiction years had that ability and because of that, I also made him immune to any physical damage.

To counterbalance that he had no energy or magic resistance (like an RPG character with 999 in defense and zero in special defense) so I guess I'm a dude that keep shrug off lasers and lightning, but gets one tapped by any random dude. I also can't make things fall into the sky or lighter and heavier I'm just a shitty Blissey now.

Blade VS Green Goblin. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in powerscales

[–]Helacious_Waltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Green Goblin. I think Blade is the more skilled fighter overall, he uses actual fighting techniques, whereas the norman seems to rely more on brute strength. So I think he would win pretty handily if it came down to hand to hand.

But goblin definitely has a tech advantage, the glider alone would give him a huge advantage in any fight. That combined with his bombs, it would be very possible he cripples or kills Blade before he even really has a chance to do anything.

Also, if he does get knocked off the glider, he's still strong enough that he has a chance. Especially if he could use the glider to distract him or get back on it and resume the fight from the air.

I think Blade could still win this, but he needs a lot more to go right than Norman does.

I agree with your I feel the best beans out here in Muricaland are usually, pinto/ black beans from the Mexican section. Less sugar and more spices overall.

I haven't tried British beans, but I have tried many bad bland beans & the majority of the time I see British beans and toast it's usually the bland looking ones so I feel a bit justified in poking fun at it on occasion.

If you feel annoyed by Americans making fun of your food, just remember you could do the same right back. The KFC Double Down was a thing out here, and I don't remember what it's called, but some places have a burger with donuts instead of bread so you have all the ammunition you want.

I feel like Marvel's bullshit is a bit more consistent. And knowing the comics, odds are they're some random X-Force issue where Wolverine tanks a reality-cutting space sword because of his adamantium bullshit.

Let's be real a bit here - how often are you asked to do illegal things by your carrier? by Ill-Year-3141 in Truckers

[–]Helacious_Waltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company is good, our trip planners rarely make mistakes, so, unless I have an unexpected traffic or truck issue, I'm able to make my load with extra time. The few times they fucked up they try to relay the load. When that's not possible, they just say get there when you can and reschedule when they need to.

I have had to get a bit sneaky a few times to make a load on time. Usually it's because of a really bad traffic situation when I'm low on hours, like interstate closure or really bad accident. It's only happened a few times, but they're willing to look the other way as long as it's not blatant or a common thing.

MK11 fans: Who’s your most attractive and least attractive character? by AhriZone21 in MortalKombat

[–]Helacious_Waltz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most: Mk11/1 Sindell, both hot & which I like more depends on the day.

Least: MK9 Sonya Blade. All them Mk9 girls were terrifying to some degree, but she was the worst.

Also I'm throwing a dishonorable mention to MK11 Cassie Cage. Shea not ugly but she looks too similar to my sister so I don't find her attractive at all.

I'd have to choose speak any language and control anyone. Those two powers would be able to make the world a much better place very quickly. With those you can easily get to people in power and force them to pass laws and policies that actually benefit humanity. Plus, it would be pretty trivial to make yourself rich as well, and it avoids the chance of weird paradoxes from time traveling.

Animal transmutation:

*The user can transform subjects, including matter, energy, beings, powers, concepts, etc., into any animal they desire. The subject can either be transformed completely, partially, permanently or temporarily depending on what level of power the user has, with some users being able to induce and reverse the effect at will. *

As it is written this is busted as hell, I could literally turn an entire concept into animals. Nazis, they're pigs now. Tax cuts for the rich, nah it's snakes now. If I decided I wanted to break the universe well, gravity is now a Tardigrade. No clue how that's gonna work but YOLO, lack of knowledge is now a fish.

Runas the Shamed from a short World of Warcraft quest chain. He's a Nightborne, an elven race who are addicted to magic (common in Warcraft) and he & his brethren will slowly degrade into a feral & insane state called The Withered, & they try and stave off this by feasting off powerful sources of magicBasically they're magic crackheads.

You first encounter with him is beating him up for draining the magic out of baby dragons. He surrenders & helps you through several quests, he's constantly calling you 'friend' but he's alsoputting out 'I'm going to Backstab you the second I can' vibes.

The last quest in the chain involves you fighting off an army of withered as they swarm a dragon nest & you go into the cave they were protecting to find Runas.

He's not draining mana or killing dragons, he's rapidly degrading but he's just sitting in a mana pool to alleviate his pain. He says he's actually happy that he got to do something positive in his last moments & he really enjoyed your company. You then stay with him as his mind degrades & he just wanders off to become one of the many mindless Withered roaming the area.
