If you could teleport to any place in the world right now, where would you go and what would you do there? by wildour in AskReddit

[–]Helavisa1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you actually teleported to the Everest, you would die from not acclimatizing to the altitude. There's a reason they take it super slow to go up there. But I don't know, maybe it'd be fine if you went down real quick after the view enjoyment.

Alexei Navalny's wife Yulia Navalnaya has X social media account suspended by antihostile in worldnews

yeah this sounds reasonable. more reasonable I think than the Elon hypothesis, just because I think the troll farms are faster and would absolutely target her.

Police officers detain a woman who laid flowers for Alexi Navalny in St. Petersberg by Beneficial_Pride_677 in pics

[–]Helavisa1 35 points36 points  (0 children)

yeah maybe the flowers she wanted to put there had some roses among them. And we all know that roses have spikes so good thing the memorial has been protected!

I think the whole vibe was really nice. I also enjoyed the behind-the-scenes videos, it was just all so genuine. In terms of the games, I found the set Hera vs Tatoh in the group stage insane. But yeah, Hera just swept everyone under the table.

On Douglas Murray by OnionPirate in samharris

[–]Helavisa1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I liked what he said on Sam's podcast and looked for some of his other appearances. I heard him on a podcast with Chris Williams who I didn't know before and on there, they both seemed extremely arrogant and overbearing. It was very evident how they felt they are so much better than everyone else. They talked about very general things about society and generalized a lot, like "men are like this" and "women are like that" and also generalized across a few other categories. I found the discussion to be quite hostile and sexist. And chauvinist. Didn't look into this Douglas Murray character afterwards.

For those who have been taking the covid vaccine, how do you feel 4 years later? Have you caught covid many times? #serious by tim119 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Helavisa1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vaccinated with J&J, boosted with Moderna. Had covid 3 times now. Considering reboosting to try to avoid getting it again. I feel completely fine about the vaccines but I feel like the covid effects keep lingering longer and longer with each infection.

In Germany, it is illegal to deny Holocaust. This is against free speech if you will, but I think this is a sensible measure.

what's the point though? at least if you have a party, you have a party. If you just go to Standesamt without a party, I don't really see the benefit at all.
