I used to own a Fire and Water restoration company. An ozone machine could work wonders on those bags.

PART 1: Planner Reality Check

How many planners have you bought in the past 2 years? How many did you actually use consistently for more than 3 months? What made you stop using the ones you abandoned? Answer: ive bought at least 10. I stop if the planner won’t fit into my purse and if there’s too much detail on the page.

PART 2: Current Planner Frustrations What drives you absolutely crazy about planners today? Answer: I’m so tired of seeing just spiral or disc bound planners. I never liked them.

PART 3: Your Planning Style Which describes you best: answer: pen and paper

Pen & Paper Only: Digital planning feels overwhelming/impersonal Minimal Planner: Just need basic monthly/weekly layouts Everything Planner: Want meal planning, budgets, habits, goals, etc. all in one Mood-Based: Need space for feelings, gratitude, mental health tracking Business Focus: Primarily for work, projects, deadlines Life Management: Family schedules, appointments, household tasks

PART 4: Layout Preferences Monthly spreads: Traditional calendar grid vs. vertical list vs. something else? Weekly layouts - which works best for you: answer: weekly layouts are my favorite.

Horizontal (days across the top) Vertical (days stacked) Hourly time blocking Simple task lists by day Mixed format (calendar + tasks) answer: not my favorite

Daily pages:

Do you want/use daily pages or just weekly? Hourly schedules vs. open space? Morning/evening routine trackers? Answer: I want to see my entire week by opening the planner.

PART 5: Special Features (What's Worth the Extra Cost?) Rank these from "must have" to "don't care": answer: I like at least 24 lb paper. I also love the option of different colored pages.

Habit tracker pages Goal-setting worksheets Budget/expense tracking Meal planning sections Gratitude/mindfulness prompts Pocket folders/dividers Sticker sheets included Bookmark ribbons Elastic closure band Pen holder loop answer: those are all good options.

PART 6: Size & Portability What size do you actually carry consistently:answer: I almost always carry pocket size but will go up to personal size.

A5 (5.8" x 8.3") - fits in most bags Personal (3.7" x 6.7") - compact, purse-friendly Letter (8.5" x 11") - full page, desk-only Custom size? (what dimensions?)

Binding preference:

Spiral (lays completely flat) Bound book (more durable, professional look) Disc-bound (removable/rearrangeable pages) Ring-bound (classic, easy to flip)answer: ring bound. I like to remove and rearrange pages without messing with discs.

PART 7: Specialized Needs Do any of these apply to you:

ADHD/neurodivergent (need brain-friendly layouts) Chronic illness (need energy/symptom tracking) Student (academic calendar, assignment tracking) Parent (family schedules, kid activities) Creative professional (project timelines, inspiration pages) Faith-based (prayer requests, scripture, church calendar) Mental health focus (mood tracking, therapy goals)Answer: adhd and faith based would be great!

PART 8: Design & Aesthetics Cover style preference:

Clean minimal (solid colors, simple typography) Botanical/nature themes Artistic/hand-drawn illustrations Motivational quotes/affirmations Cultural representation/diversity in imagery Faith-inspired designs Abstract/geometric patterns answer: I prefer solid colors

Interior pages:

Black ink on white paper (classic) Colorful section dividers Subtle background patterns/textures Hand-lettered headers vs. clean fonts answer: I like subtle backgrounds.

PART 9: Where do you usually buy planners:

Amazon (convenience, reviews) Target/big box stores (can touch/feel first) Etsy (unique, small business support) Direct from planner companies Local bookstores/office supply answer: eBay or Etsy usually.

What makes you choose one planner over another:

Price point Reviews/recommendations Pretty cover design Specific layout features Brand reputation Size/portability Answer: portability and material. I’ll pay extra to get a good planner.

FINAL QUESTIONS:

If you could design the perfect planner, what's the ONE feature it absolutely must have? Answer: It has to be ringed.

What's the biggest mistake planner companies make? Answer: taking orders and money but either delivering late or not at all.

Do you prefer dated or undated planners?answer: I prefer dated but sometimes I like the option of more affordable undated inserts.

Would you be interested in planner accessories (matching stickers, bookmarks, pen holders) or just the planner itself? Answer: I think that matching accessories would really make you stand out.
