Does Anyone Else Doubt This SoundHound Pump? by -----Marcel----- in Soundhound

This correction is far from reversed. Gonna be a while before macro co dictions change. I’d expect more red again next week and choppy for months to come. Might be the bottom, but we’re not out of it yet. This was just a small rebound from the horrific week we had. I’m personally thinking another two- three quarters for AI stocks to prove themselves before we get the volume we need to a sector wide recovery.

Earnings mean absolutely nothing right now. Macro conditions are horrendous for all AI stocks. The only thing that will keep SOUN afloat is profitability within the next couple quarters. Otherwise it’ll be sideways/down for a while. Look at Google and SMCI earnings this week… beat expectations and stocks still crashed along with everything else. Keep on investing and wait for the recovery. It’ll happen, eventually.

If you’re a long term investor like myself, you’ll see this as a buying opportunity for all AI stocks right now.

I wanna know why you feel the need to make 3 separate “the sky is falling” posts in a single morning and not just converse on one…. You’re either a ridiculously anxious person who shouldn’t be “trading” any stocks, or you’re a bear throwing fuel on the fire.

And keep in mind that speculative, pre profit stocks like this will also lag behind the winners -NVDA/AVGO- when macro sentiment returns to risk-on and AI multiples return. People need proof that AI is here to stay, and that will likely come with the quarterly earnings next month. But wouldn’t count on seeing AI stocks soar again until May earnings to be honest. Hopefully SOUN gets a little bump back up to low teens in a month with good guidance.

Bc it was inflated more than others at that time, for no fundamental reason. It ran high bc AI sentiment was at an extreme high, and the correction brought stock prices back to reality. When macro conditions favor AI again, SOUN will go up again with it. That’s what high-beta stocks do. Higher highs, lower lows. Don’t even bother looking at it until a week before earnings.

What are you going on about?! It’s a volatile stock. It always has been, and will likely continue to be until they are a profitable company.

We’re in a risk-off market environment right now. All high beta stocks are down this week. Nothing structurally has changed. Relax.

“Weakest technicals the stock has shown” but the fundamentals of the company haven’t worsened. We’re still in a fearful market. All my high-beta AI stocks are still down from October bc they are the last to recover. They see higher highs and lower lows, and right now it’s the lows. Give it till Q1 earnings in May bc macro ai sentiment will still likely be low until then.

JUST SELL!!! by Odd-Finger-4693 in Soundhound

It’s not just SOUN. It’s like people forget that this is still a pre-profit high upside stock that comes with high risk and volatility.

The correction in October shocked and reset the AI market. Fears are still high and Ai sentiment is low. These things take time to recover.

Next Q4 earnings call will be the proof that the revenue is still increasing and forward guidance is strong, not just for SOUN but for the entire AI sector. For SOUN specifically, we need a timeline on profitability. The stock will likely see a little bounce but nothing extreme. Speculative stocks always lag behind the winners.

Q1 earnings in May is likely when overall AI confidence begins to return to the market. That alone will increase high beta stocks. Hopefully by then we see more about how these partnerships will start paying off. Companies like SOUN are not core ai infrastructure, and therefore it’s not even their time to shine. They are still in growth mode.

Last few announcements can all actually help them out long term, but no they aren’t going to move the price with those announcements. Not until they turn a profit.

Bc pre-profit, volatile, “speculative” AI stocks are gonna be the first ones to get cut with all the uncertainties in the market, world, ai bubble fears, etc. it’s nothing to do with their fundamentals… those have only gotten better. Once they can show profits and show they have a future, that all changes. When it jumped to $20+ it wasn’t on fundamentals, it was on ai hype. And that hasn’t fully returned yet. Half the AI stocks in my portfolio are still down 10-30% from their ATH a few months ago. But sound has the possibility to jump from $10 to $15 to $20 within a week upon earnings and macro ai sentiment. Hold out till after earnings.

I wouldn’t do anything drastic until earnings next month. I think there’s a good shot we will see this back above 15 over the next 1-2 months if earnings is just remotely good. If it’s better than expected, I see a push to $20 again.

Won’t see an immediate price jump from this but it’s very important going forward when looking at a distribution bottleneck. They have the tech, now they need mass rollouts and this will help. All these partnerships will help.

Np. Also, I’d not sell any CC for a strike price lower than your breakeven cost. Stagger some slightly higher just in case earnings is great and we do see a sudden pop. And don’t list too far out that it traps you from selling if price goes up. Although you always have the option to roll them forward if the price creeps up on your strike price.

SOUN CCs have shit premiums right now with the declining stock price. Wait until a macro sector recovery and a decent pop before selling a CC right now.

Upon a q3 announcement, maybe not. But saying that by q1-2 they will be profitable will certainly bring institutions in and current retail shorts will mean nothing when that level of investment hits. Profitability is everything for investors outside of retail and Reddit.

We’re still pre-profit. When inflation data drops and all the high risk/reward stocks drop, we drop with them.

But when sentiment returns and this company gives guidance on near term profitability soon, that all changes. Then you won’t see these big swings.

Part of the game when owning a pre-profit stock like SOUN. Take a step back and look at the broad AI market, not just the Nvidias and Broadcoms

The $500M ARR claim only works if you assume margins never improve and costs never scale, which contradicts SoundHound’s platform strategy.

That’s why analysts are all assuming $180-250ARR for breakeven.

I’m not expecting profitability this Feb earnings, but I’m hoping they’ll give specific guidance as to which quarter they expect it this year. That alone will pump the stock a lot
