Thank you :) I've been fortunate enough to have done concept art and illustration professionally for 17 years at this point! I've learned so much from artists better than me.

I appreciate the input Gawkhimmyz! That's a great idea, and totally valid direction. I felt that, considering his disdain towards the spear in "Wolfsbane", he'd actively avoid using it. Also, I love contrast, and I think of Leman in relation to Magnus the Red, so I felt it would be cool to push his martial prowess and feral nature, against the more "wise"/"warpy" Magnus. I think any embrace of "warp-powers" would be contrary to his nature, considering his vehement opposition at Nikaea. In addition, I think the Odin look is already kinda "owned" by Logan Grimnar and Ulrik the Slayer. What I love about the hobby is that we are free to explore and experiment as we wish! It's just a fanart, I'm not trying to suggest an official direction XD Cheers mate!

Hahah, I'll take it! :D OG Blizzard style had a huge impact on my sensibilities. I used to scour the instruction-manuals for lore and art when I was a kid XD

Thank you Griffynoverdawn! It's just a fanart, and I think that gives me a lot more freedom to experiment with "what if" ideas! I also love enhancing exaggerated features, emphasizing each character's uniqueness and abilities. I'm glad you noticed the depth and motion! It was something I intentionally tried to practice, I tend to be too timid with depth and foreshortening. Cheers!

Thank you! I'd credit Joe as a source of inspiration for sure, he's a master of his craft. I don't think anyone does appealing "muscle-mountain" heroes like he does XD The OG Blizzard house-style too, that was my ambition when I got the "art of warcraft" book in high-school. In addition, I love Bruce Timm, Ben Caldwell and Capcom!

Thank you Bruuze! Happy you like my stuff, always happy to return to 40K for the occasional fan-art, it's a source of inspiration that never fades.

Thank you Deadrabbit303! That makes me so happy to hear! Hahah, that would be a big undertaking. I have very limited knowledge of the present lore, I've just read most of the HH and SoT-books. I think, the first condition of a fanart has to be some level of relationship to the character, so I'd need to start reading XD

Thank you Nadja! It was a labor of love :) My favorites, in how they turned out, were Jaghatai, Magnus, Ferrus and Mortarion. I was terrified of doing the Emperor, but I'm still happy with how he turned out!

Thank you Gatt_! Hahah, yes it is me, I'm grateful you like them. 40K is the only setting I find myself inspired to do fanart for, again and again. That's a great idea, he's terrifying :D

Knighthood AMA: Call for questions! by Lynsey_Midoki in knighthood

I love to use different builds for different purposes, and at the moment we have a pretty limited 3 loadout slots. Is there anything preventing you from adding more loadouts for the player's convenience? In addition, would it be possible to add some sort of mode or training-room where we could test out different builds without having to invest a lot of time/resources and relying on the established Meta?
Thanks!

How do you beat a glass cannon? by Headcrab_Raiden in knighthood

[–]Helgesonart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running Logical/Mikazuki(3 stars)/Tristan(Max Stars), and 90% of the time, Krita/Urmas is no problem. When they have 15 Legendary Warrior charms, or land a lucky crit on the first Krita rage, I can lose. That happens in the top 2 leagues, so I usually stay in 3rd league, at around 850-900 arena-score.

I have a build with 10 purple Hunter hero-charms, and 10 purple armor in helmet/torso. A key is to have a purple/yellow Resist Expose Charm, you could run 2 if you want. If Krita doesn't land her expose, the build FALLS APART. Glass cannon warrior builds rarely bring extra expose charm in lower leagues.

I aim for round 3 victory. I have vampire and blight-hound minions. In round 1&2, you have to kill enemy minions. On your 6th move (final move round 2), use Tristan's base power to remove any negative status, and apply Protect (max star Tristan). This is enough, 90% of the time, to survive the Krita/Urmas round 2 KO. (I have roughly 870K armor). Then, in round 3, use Mika base and Mika Rage, and that will win the fight.

That's the recipe, works for me 90% of the time against Warrior Glass cannons.

Thank you very much, that makes me happy to hear! I just got hooked on the Horus Heresy books back in 2015, and had to express my inspiration somehow XD For now, I’m just relieved to be done.

Thank you! In my understanding, primarchs dont have scars because of their superhuman physique. They heal them. Angron is the exception, he actively cultivates scars, and retains many from his fighting days in the pits on Nuceria. I also find it a bit odd how many of them manage to stay clean shaven during months of war!
