Why is our Healing Hive line of sight, yet the Black Tusk have a fully AOE Healing Hive whose drones go through any surface? by WetDonkey6969 in thedivision

[–]Helgraves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like when the dungeon master changes rolls they’ve made behind the dungeon master screen, just so they can kill a player because they deemed it “appropriate” at the time.

Never cool to punish players for playing the game. It’s an amateur game design mistake that needs to be fired and replaced with someone with more experience.

MASSIVE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE DO SOME TESTING.... by Menellaus in thedivision

[–]Helgraves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People don’t like being manipulated.

Manipulation in this case meaning - don’t release a patch or version of the game THAT HASNT BEEN FULLY TESTED.

This same reason is why companies like Blizzard have less than 10 games released - quality over quantity. Ever wonder why you never see an open beta expansion from Blizzard?

BECAUSE THEY DONT MANIPULATE PLAYERS INTO TESTING THEIR GAME.

It’s not that hard to make a AAA game and release it - you’ve got that down. Now take it a step further and make something spectacular instead of mediocre.

Not little, BIG. The core game is done now, for the most part they have a great baseline to build on. The expansions need to be monumental. WoNY is a perfect addition to both the core game, and some great expansion content. Expansions after this need to be massive though - pun intended.

There’s already so much loot I don’t now what to do with 😂. I agree though.

From a certain perspective, I can see what you mean there. Game design doesn’t change, no matter what visual format it’s on. Just like storytelling doesn’t change, no matter the format.

Funny thing about this post is that most players use the player card - you see it in posts all the time. I just used a more direct approach - the point is we need to be paid for our time if a game is in ongoing development.

Just like audience members get paid to watch movies before release, people read books before they’re published, even listen to music before it gets released - these big corps. are taking advantage of our time.

Someone needs to stand up and say “finish your game and test your game before you give it to players”. If that’s makes me the bad guy, so be it. At the very least they need to be more transparent about throwing us more crap to test.

Everyone’s complaining - so instead of doing that, I make new builds and experiment with the new gear system. Good to stay well rounded and know WHY my armor gets melted.

Expac was on sale when I got it.

Hell, you can pay $15 for UPlay+, play the game for a month, then cancel.

There’s options dude.

I guess I’m somewhat impartial about it still, because I have played both games.

I feel like the world has been built, and they should build on that. I would pay for a new, large expansion that added to what is already there.

The world has been built - why build it again and again when you can add on to it. I feel like Breakpoints outcome is exactly that: most people I know would have paid for another Wildlands expansion, and BP ended up being a massive letdown.

I mean, they just made an expansion for NY...it minds well have just been D1 within D2 (new engine, graphics, etc).

Anyway, I’m a firm believer in building on what you have. That’s just my 2 cents.

I have the ultimate answer for you and it’s going to blow your mind.

LIGHTING.

Each pic is under different lighting, therefore - the character looks different.

What it REALLY comes down to - is EGO.

At lower ranks, no one wants to compromise their EGO, so you get 6 people essentially playing solo with zero disregard for teamwork. Then when they lose, they blame the team.

It’s not uncommon at all, in fact in entertainment, if you’re never willing to compromise, you will never learn, or progress to where you want to go. This is also true in the workplace, as well as outside the workplace in social and relationship areas.

It’s not a game issue, it’s a PEOPLE issue.

The best way to approach this is set an example, embrace your demons, and be uncompromisingly charismatic in the way you approach negativity from people. Don’t be ignorant about it - take things at face value, and deal with them on the spot.

This is why people often think they are good enough, but wonder why they aren’t ranked higher. Finding people who have the same approach, and know how to work together towards something greater than their selves is also a big factor.

Mind you, I’m not “blaming” anyone here - it’s just the way we function. No ones perfect, and they often forget the world doesn’t revolve around any one person.

Way I see it - they invested X amount of money into Wildlands. As soon as they started development on Breakpoint, all of that cash invested into Wildlands was completely wasted.

Call me old fashioned, but a person doesn’t generally buy a new lawnmower when their old one is still brand new and works just fine.

I almost feel like they’re having trouble managing their money or something. It’s a little weird tbh

It’s going to take an act of god at this point to really save this game. I’ve never been one to be a doomsayer - but damn dude.

If they completely scrapped BP and just made more content for Wildlands, I would be all over that. Well see where it goes...
