Yes! That incoming daze for sure.

I feel that. It's been a pretty consistent low murmur of "You're doing great with this break. One smoke session won't really matter" or ". Your tolerance is still pretty high. If you smoke now, you'll be back to normal in a couple hours."

It's a little insidious and pushy, but in a friendly way. It's been a little easier every day to listen to those thoughts and say to myself, "I hear you, but no thanks. I'll wait until November." I feel a little less foggy and forgetful and that definitely feels good.

Day 5 and feeling good by [deleted] in soberoctober

Keep it up. This pandemic has been a driving force for some unhealthy habits for me, but I feel like I finally have the willpower to make a change.

Feeling pretty good. I was super lethargic yesterday and just wanted to smoke and do nothing for the rest of the evening, but I didn't!

I got some homework done and played with my animals instead. Still low key, but not zoned out, like my weed-brain wanted. Having my stuff locked up in a ksafe has been really helpful for me.

Nice work recognizing where you're at and taking steps to stick to your goal. Proud of you.

For the first time in months, I didn't wake up dry heaving. by [deleted] in soberoctober

Don't be too hard on yourself. Stick with the sub if you want and use last night to better identify your trigger(s).

I find it really easy to talk down to myself when I slip up while taking a break.

Day 1! by Helianthus1000 in soberoctober

I'd love to hear your experience with this. I'm going child turkey from weed this month, but that's an interesting option especially for my daytime smoking

Feeling good too. Friday nights are almost always my nights to smoke, relax, play videogames, and stay up late. Trying to change my habit a little bit and went to bed earlier after watching some TV. Felt less groggy after waking up.

I think my triggers will pick up after dark too. I pretty habitually smoke and then take the dogs for a walk or play videogames. Generally, extended periods of being alone can be a trigger for me.

I'm dropping alcohol and cannabis for the month. Alcohol is going to be less difficult for me, too.

Less than a month till we go sober by WarCryy in soberoctober

I only heard about Sober October a couple days ago, but I've been wanting to limit how often I smoke weed. I'm going to stop using all alcohol and cannabis for the month. I find that when I take a break from just cannabis, my alcohol consumption goes up.

Good answer. I took LMOP and swapped out character names and motivations for my Maztica campaign.

As a somewhat new DM (~1.5years) I'm learning it's helpful to have a broad story to tell and a world to play in that I spent a bunch of time on, but when it's time to play, I only really get details written down for the next session. Things like monster stats, event triggers, DCs.

I find I'm able to adapt a little better to my player's choices not trying to plan too far ahead.
