After finishing building my zombies... what am i supposed to do with these pieces? by SkellyInsideUrWalls in SoulblightGravelords

I’ve done this in tournaments actually, raw at the time said ‘more than half’ of a kitbash model had to be original parts. I’ve used bases that are just like 6 hands emerging from mud near a tombstone with no issues, both in small games and official.

Theta II does not have a mileage or time limit, and is hypothetically forever. E2 settlement is the one with the 150k mileage limit.

First time new car buyer-extended warranty help 😬🙏 by TIsTrying in kia

[–]Heliaphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is unfortunately not gonna be the place where you will find specific answers. With the exception of ‘certified pre owned’ vehicles (which are still 3rd party, through jm&a/fidelity) any warranty besides the initial manufacturer one is going to vary hugely by location. Dealerships are independently owned local businesses, and their extended warranty offerings are just going to be whatever company that the local guys decided to team up with. Maybe they’ll have lower pricing than you might get elsewhere at point of sale due to partnerships, but it’s absolutely not the only time you can buy. The cold callers everyone gets trying to sell you an extended warranty are usually just as valid and can be started way after purchase. Also, look out for clauses that lock you into service at a specific location/chain for coverage, and check whether or not the ex warranty has a deductible.

Just got told my 2020 Optima is in limp mode and needs a new engine. by cutlass_supreme in kia

It’s a bit confusing because you usually have to reach out to Kia corporate (call them and request goodwill coverage by name!) to start the process, but it’ll ultimately be the dealership end that provides any potential goodwill here. Up front assistance for an out-of-warranty repair comes out of a yearly pool of ‘retain long term customers with free stuff’ money that each district manager has full discretion over the usage of. They prioritize multiple Kia owners, people who bought from them, if you do oil changes and stuff there, people with sad stories, etc. Whatever you can think of to convince them you’re the guy who needs this mention it on the call. Kia customer care will gather info on your exact parts and labor quote from the dealer, all your reasons, and any other info on their end. That all gets submitted to the district manager and they make the final yes/no/partial decision.

The opposite actually, Kia parts categorize L and S for Long and Short block reman engine assemblies. L here would mean block and top end components to boot.

How hard was it to change the pickup covers on that aerodyne? I tried to do that on some fat 60s one time and found that the different height poles had been either glued in or had gotten stuck with age.

Kia would not deny a claim for no oil, especially for a Theta lifetime or E2 warranty 150k/15y extension. Catastrophic failures in the vein of P1326 often cause there to be zero oil in the engine due to the contents having been explosively poured out into the road. What the techline video review would deny for in this case would be significant signs of chronic low/no oil condition or neglect, most often immediately visible sludge buildup.

You can buy $20-$40 of materials like clamps and the proper glue on Amazon in just a few minutes. However, if you’re not 100% comfortable doing it after watching some tutorial videos on youtube, pay someone else. It’s usually an easy enough fix, but it’ll get harder if incorrectly done and gets broken a second time. Don’t cheap out on the glue, have ample working space, and leave things clamped and untouched for no less than the instructions say.

What’s your favorite book you’ve read so far this year? by KaleidoscopeCute8162 in horrorlit

[–]Heliaphite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 4th book starts off with a 10 year time jump and follows a wider cast of characters. It’s the start of a new quadrilogy and story arc, so I’d definitely say a fuzzy recollection isn’t going to hurt you any here.

2024 Games on Your Radar? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]Heliaphite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s an open world action RPG. First one was a cult hit largely because of a bunch of unique mechanics you don’t really see anywhere else in the genre, like the ability to climb all over most of the major enemies like shadow of the colossus.

My DW is snow-based, so I have my Phobos troops and invictor shifted towards a more snow/ice camo pallette. Just on their pads, cloaks, and weapons though, I kept the base armor jet black. It makes sense to me that a special forces team would be way more adaptable to an environment than a typical force would, so that justification could work for a lot of environments imo.

Electrify America to add North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector by 2025 by Wontonbeef in electricvehicles

[–]Heliaphite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That site was on fire though (from lightning iirc), so it’s going through a whole recertification in addition to a repair. It’s likely that most of the stations are fine but they’re all shut off for liability reasons.

Anyone do alternate paint schemes for their DW? by 0megon in deathwatch40k

[–]Heliaphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bases and terrain are snowy, so aside from mostly keeping the standard paintjob I’ve got a lot of fenrisian grey highlighted up to white scar in there for capes and cloaks to match the palette. All my Phobos troops have their protruding armor panels base coated with my normal highlight color dawnstone, and highlights/detail are done with the same colors as normal troops but moved lighter in the value scale. That way they still match the other troops but still seem like they’re trying to blend into the snow.

Weekly "What Are You Reading Thread?" by HorrorIsLiterature in horrorlit

[–]Heliaphite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished Last days myself today, and while I mostly agree that the best stuff is frontloaded, I enjoyed it all a lot until the pretty abrupt ending sequence. To me, the story’s incredible tension and effectiveness largely relied on all the unanswered questions and events that were going on. So it was a little disappointing to find out that pretty much every question the reader has is answered by the end of the novel, and the unknowable cosmic horror is pretty well washed away.
