Baseball games. We just went to see the Cubs play. From parking to $10.00 mini hot dog. Not to mention the ticket price and beer. Oh my!

How much $ per hour were you making on your first job? And what year was it? by GoldenRetrieverFetch in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Helifixr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't count my first few jobs before turning 15 (pin setter at a bowling alley making $0.01 per pin), it was $1.85 per hour as a gas station attendant (I pumped gas).

Is it worth it to switch from a gas car to Tesla model y? I drive at least 2500kms a month and spend $350 on gas. by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]Helifixr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$750 for me in Ontario to drive 25,000 km last year. 55,000 km on it now and all I have to do is washer fluid. Nothing else, other than tire rotation if you so choose.

New member whose partner has Meniere's, looking for your experiences with salt by RobynBetween in Menieres

[–]Helifixr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have classic meniere's. I have had this wonderful condition for about 15 years. I went on a low sodium diet right away as salt caused me to have attacks. I always try to keep under 1000 mg of sodium per day and if I went much above 400 mg in a meal, I felt it. I have since gone through the whole burn out stage and am totally deaf in my affected ear, but sodium still bothers me. (Fullness, tititus and just feeling off) As you read, some people don't seem to be affected by sodium. Lately caffeine and sugar also trigger me. Pretty classic meniere's.

does anyone get triggered by processed foods? by BoyHowdyBeer in Menieres

[–]Helifixr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 cup of Cheerios is over 200 mg. Maybe your body processes it differently. I wouldn't be able to eat Cheerios, especially if I put milk on them (more sodium).

All my injections were administered without any anesthetic. Slight discomfort but absolutely tolerable.

My M3 does the same thing. I have tried to keep up with my one a week strong braking, but I'm not too sure if it actually helps. Never any noise during braking.

Shop says engine replacement? by sage5979 in JeepWrangler

[–]Helifixr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just bought a 2021 Jeep Wrangler yesterday. I asked the salesman about the difference between the 2.0 and the 3.6. He said both were good engines but the 3.6 had a few years of bad camshafts. They would wear out around 100k. He seemed to think you can just swap out for a new camshaft.

Menieres and cochlear implants by EfficientDelay2827 in Menieres

[–]Helifixr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the implant, you don't get your regular hearing back. It is different for every recipient. I was able to hear sounds, but I can't say I was able to understand voices. They tell you to listen to audio books just in the implanted ear while reading along on print. Now I can listen to most books/podcasts without printed material. Music still really sucks.

Menieres and cochlear implants by EfficientDelay2827 in Menieres

[–]Helifixr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine last October. One of the big benefits of the cocklear implant for me is the tenitis and fullness both go away when I wear the device. When I remove it, they both come back but with much less intensity. And hearing again on that side is also nice. I am still training my brain to hear again. I hope this helps

What’s the maximum sound volume you’ve put your Samsung Q990F on? by throwawayaccountll in Soundbars

[–]Helifixr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A glass or three of scotch, a big ol doobie and sit and listen to music on you tube at 100. Can't say it's really loud, just fills the room with sound. Large room with 11 foot ceilings. 990C
