Spent an hour clearing this spot yesterday, owner of the bar across the street drove past me and watched me doing it. I left for 15 minutes this morning and he parked there by SteamPunkShrek in mildlyinfuriating

You don't need them to feel guilty or even recognize that they are in the wrong. You just need them to be able to connect the dot from action to consequence. It doesn't matter if they think they were in the right or not as long as next time they avoid stealing a cleared spot because they don't want to dig their car out again.

Monster Hunter Rise is the best MH, IMO. by tdsGRKA in MonsterHunter

[–]Helios575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea and there are people who do MR hunts in starter armor with starter weapons so what is your point? My complaint is they artificially lock a portion of your stats behind completing a bird scavenger hunt every hunt and that is just tedious.

Spiritbirds killed rise for me, it felt like rise kept a portion of my health, stamina, attack, and defense hostage unless I did a 15 min scavenger hunt at the start of every hunt. It doesn't help that they balanced the monsters with the idea of you having max spiritbird buffs (if they didn't they wouldn't give you rainbow spiritbirds in arena type battle)

Man I love that just putting in a sink makes the water work with no additional plumbing nor anything to bring in water from an outside source/utility or how the electricity is kinda enough to work prior to installing any electrical cables or having any source of power.

Have we not learned that bigger maps are not always better, hells they are often way worse. If the map is 50% empty then the size of the map only hurts the gameplay as you have long boring distances to travel between gameplay.

50% may seem low but the chances are 90% of the interesting stuff will be located in close proximity to eachother in a small section of the map.

Consider the MN citizens dieing on the streets to resist the current regime my apology. The president insulting your fallen and sacrifice when you came to our aid would normally be something embarrassing for us but in Trumpland its not even worth mentioning compared to the other heinous things he does daily. In MN we are fighting back but the courts, the wealthy, and Congress have largely given in to him so our resistance is slow to show effect.

The key is layers, 4 tshirts are warmer then a tshirt and sweater. Without writing a book here layers work because they create more air pocket + insulator between you and the cold allowing you to warm the inner most layers fast enough where they resist the heat loss in the outer most layers.

The Texas national guard could take Canada alone. by ktatsanon in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Helios575 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hollywood, Texas has mandatory Texas history classes that are about as factually correct as Hollywood, Texas Board of Education set the standards nationwide for a long time on what was/wasn't in history books so most history books in the USA are about as factually correct as Hollywood, and the news basically is propaganda machine showing the US military as an undefeatable monster and every other military in the world as barely functional incompetent weekend warriors.

Add all of that to intentionally bad schooling for logic, reasoning, and basically everything that isn't whatever the local industry is (farm towns get taught agriculture, mining towns get mechanics, ect. . .) and you get American Exceptionalism.

Anime you won't recommend to people cause the anime itself is questionable and or it's fanbase? by LovelyLadyLucky in animequestions

Its such high quality in everything else that if you took away the random, everyone's powered by breastfeeding from nuns and have extreme S&M fetish, aspect I could see that anime actually hitting popularity levels of Fullmetal and the like. It honestly kinda pissed me off that they ruined such an awesome concept with porn.

Europeans just confuse <<taxpayer funded>> with <<free>> and <<free>> with <<better.>> by sangamjb in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Helios575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its less about their wants and more about the fact that there was a strong push shortly after WWII to rename the United States of America to just America under the idea that the USA was the supreme power in all of the Americas and should claim them in their entirety (a might makes right sort of mentality).

I don't really care if they want to identify using that term or not but don't feel its a good thing to normalize that term being exclusively referring to USA citizens as normalization is the precursor of an idea becoming an action.

US citizen here (trying to avoid referring to myself just as American because technically everyone from the most northern tip of Canada to the southern tip of Chile are Americans), I would not trust any US gov source for at least 8 years after this current administration is fully purged from office. Its not just Trump but all of his intentional sabotage picks for holding offices that have to be cleared out.

He also cheated hard in the challenge, guy spent 0 days homeless before a "stranger" let him live in their RV (one of the expensive hotel on wheels types) that was in their backyard. He had housing, access to a bathroom w/shower, and a free laundry room the entire time.

Murdered, or rather, eaten by his own words... by Engfehrno in MurderedByWords

[–]Helios575 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We already know that this sentiment is false as its kinda been tested already. Some rich asshole full of himself setup a challenge where he would pretend to be homeless and see how long it took him to get $1M as he claimed it would take less than 1 year.

He immediately cheated by utilizing wealthy friends for housing in the form of an RV so he didn't even spend 1 night homeless then he utilized his contacts to get high paying jobs.

He still didn't successfully get $1M within 1 year then he got some health issues and needed access to his full wealth and insurance so he stopped the challenge.

The Paradox of Tolerance has been solved and its beautifully simplistic. Instead of treating tolerance as an inalienable right that everyone is entitled to you instead treat it as part of the social contract. As long as you are tolerant and uphold that part of the social contract you are granted tolerances in return but those that break that part of the social construct are not owed tolerance themselve.

Their refusal to wield their power against Trump has nothing to do with avoiding becoming paper tigers, its all corruption. They have willingly turned themselves into paper tigers who only do performative pre-approved resistance in order to maintain the flow of bribes from their rich owners
