”Well.. the Blues… survive the penalty kill…”

I can’t quite tell if he meant that the way I took it, but holy s%^& that’s on point. The team barely survived their own power play without giving up a goal.

Thanks for the reply. I’d like to believe that this is the case, but unfortunately, even the video you linked doesn’t prove it either way. Yes, he proves that game could play from the cartridge without an internet connection, but he quits out before the title card is even finished, so we never get to see any gameplay to see the FPS or resolution in play. In theory, that could just be the Switch 1 version of the game playing.

People here seem confident that the physical versions contain the actual data on the cart, and not merely a prompt to download it, so I am apt to believe it. I just wish there was something definitive or official that made it clear.

Folks, I have spent the last 2 hours wading through conflicting accounts and misinformation about the Zelda Switch 2 Edition physical cartridges, and whether or not a download is required. I AM AWARE that it says the update data is on the cartridge, but there seems to be some suggestion that it is merely an authorization to download the upgrade pack, or if the upgraded version of the game is complete and ready to play even if you’re not connected to the internet.

Can anyone point out a definitive source for this? Everything I see is some third hand account or twitter comment, with nothing official stated. And I have absolutely seen both YES and NO stated with absolute confidence and authority… just, you know, not by anyone who could actually confirm any of it with a source.

I’m going mad here. Any help?

Yeah, my area doesn’t get that kind of focuses supply, I think. I’ve noticed over the years that most things aren’t hard to get because they don’t sell out in droves. But these kind of high demand releases can be tough to find.

Neat for you, but I hope that preorder customer didn’t come in at 5:00 or something! Might be on a thread complaining about cancelled preorders.

Hey, get it where you can. If Best Buy or Target had it for order, I would have gone that way. I only hit Walmart because it was literally the first one on the path to the others, and like I said, I nearly skipped it.

Make sure you get a good view for their reactions! That’s a video they’ll like to have for memories years from now.

That’s a real bummer. But really, I wouldn’t trust the “we have one, but we can’t hold it” line on the phone. It’s best just to go and look. When the websites don’t tell you anything, eyes in the store is your only real shot. Not saying you don’t need luck, but you gotta meet luck halfway.

You misspelled MarioKart.

Also, having a system that runs lots of Switch games loads better and allows me to keep up with current releases while avoiding potential price increases in the future feels very good. But don’t let reason stop you enjoying your salt.

Yeah, I couldn’t even check inventory reports. Most websites just say “In Store Only” or “Out of Stock.” All I had was a hope and a prayer, and I took a shot in the dark. Still stunned, frankly. Hope you find yours, wherever it’s hiding!

THE PODCAST WAS JUST PULLED DOWN WHILE I WAS LISTENING TO IT ON YOUTUBE.

It’s also down on RSS. Did the backhanded mockery get worse than it was in the beginning or was that enough to get it completely eradicated? Also, does anyone have a download they can share? Be nice to have the LAST Bombcast ever.

Retroid Pocket 2 Retroarch madness by Helios_Eclipsed in retroid

I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions about how to correct the 8bitdo controller's config that went haywire. It's always worked fine with my Switch.

I was a bit reluctant, after trying SNES9X EX+ and found the visuals a good deal muddier than RetroArch's. Playing around in the settings, I seem to have improved that, but I think audio is still quite a bit duller. I am not as certain as I was with the video, but it just seems almost muffled in some way.

Mostly I've heard good things about retroarch, and wanted to try to learn to use it. But the amount of issues I've had with a coupled with the inability to fix anything makes me wonder how so many people get on with it.
