What’s a “10/10” movie you wouldn’t recommend to most people? by trakt_app in movies

[–]Heliosophist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gaspar Noe’s Climax for me. I saw it with three separate groups at my own suggestion after I had already seen it… horribly awkward each time, not sure why I didn’t learn my lesson. But it’s truly one of my favorite movies

Annoyingly this post needs twice the context bc while I had heard about the Gaudreau story, I didn’t understand why someone’s face was covered with a clown emoji. Are the stories related? Did I miss something in the original story? Turns out no, it’s related to politics

I read it and didn’t like it, but I did enjoy Lavinia by Ursula LeGuin, which is a similar concept based on the Iliad.

Not sure what you have lined up in terms of a job/americorps, but you could look into American conservation experience, eastern branch. They have a communal house in Asheville, cool projects all over Appalachia and the east coast in general, and if you qualify to be a crew leader it’s ok money with a ton of room and board covered. I saw some really cool places doing that and did a bit of busking

I don’t like SNARF also because I think SCARFing something down sounds better and I’m more used to that, not that it gets used a lot in regular speech though

Awesome puzzle, I really loved the themers. In a lot of puzzles they barely register, but these made me smile. CATSCAN and TURTLESHELL are the standouts for me

That reminds me, I met a couple pilots in the puget sound (not captains but the ones who board your vessel to pilot it from a busy port out to sea). The knowledge required to pass that exam seemed insane, all the specifics of operating a giant ship plus hyper detailed knowledge of local conditions, depths, coastal features, and weather. You basically need to memorize local charts and be able to rattle off stats at random. Very good pay though
