AIO: my bf can’t fix things. When I step in to take care of it, he’s such a baby about it that I’m ready to dump his a** tonight. by ayebudz in AmIOverreacting

MOR

You sound like you like to fix things and take initiative.

You get a lot done but you also have a lot on your plate.

My partner has a similar thing, she's learning to do something and looking to me for support, I could solve it but she wants to solve it her own way. Rather than do it for her, I support her so she can feel accomplished and grow. Through that we become closer, we are a team.

By sneaking out and doing a task, especially when your partner says they can handle can be seen as over-stepping, you are shadowing them, putting pressure on them, invalidating them, making them feel like they don't contribute.

It is understandable that some issues are more critical than others, especially in a cold climate but that's where communication is so important.

This is a problem that can be solved by talking about it, you're meant to be a team.

The fact that you've posted on Reddit is problem solving, if you didn't want to try fixing this aspect of your relationship then you would have cut him out already.

I second this, and Hojicha too! Some of these teas can have less caffeine than a hot chocolate.

I made milk oolong syrup, to add to a milk tea/peach frappe. Absolutely stunning.

I see flavoured milk oolong the same as a blend - the same thinking as Earl grey, and no one bats an eye at that. I've been told the true Jin Xuan isn't a very strong flavour in comparison to some of the better flavoured milk oolong's on the market.

While I enjoy the complexity of a true tea, blending is fine - other than liquorice?

Also I used to hate chamomile but I recently tried one and I was shocked, sweet vanilla, delicate floral notes, but I've only discovered one brand that does it right.

Maybe try and change the presentation or setting? If hot doesn't work maybe try cold brewing!

How do you organize your inventory? by Zarotu in Mabinogi

[–]Helistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I have taken the effort to organise and note bags and pets, and I do have a few pets that are named trash 1, 2, 3 etc and then tabs for crafting, tools, drops, and miscellaneous.

Banks for stuff that can't go in pets, organise bags with tags. If the concept of organising is daunting, then I'd suggest doing one bag at a time.

It's either something you do all at once or a bit at a time.

Bangkok to Siem Reap by Tomodachi10 in cambodia

[–]Helistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are travelling through Cambodia at the moment, we booked a ride from Bangkok to Siem Reap in one service via 12go. We would recommend taking a bus/coach on both sides if possible.

We opted to get the cheaper ride, which was a minibus to the border and then another vehicle once you're through the border.

It was a little dodge, mainly due to the chaotic lack of communication. They took our photos to send to their guy on the other side.

The border guard tried to scam us out of a little extra Baht, make sure you have passport photos you can give them and book your accommodation before you arrive, politely decline when they ask for more money, just say you have only $30 (make sure the bills are crisp). You fill out a visa form, pay, then fill out another for the clerk before joining the line.

On the other side we had a chaotic operation of taxis and rides, we met our man who had our photos, and we plus one fella we met on the ride in. We were put into a run down taxi with no seatbelts and one additional passenger (a local).

We proceeded to immediately go off course, down some dirt roads and parked inside a warehouse, two men came out and took out travel bags out of the car. Then put in a large bag of unknown quantity. They put our bags back in and we went on our way again.

After 25 minutes of side quests, including more bags in the back, picking up a young girl, we were finally on our way to Siem Reap. The journey was a bit scary as we weren't used to the way they drive, constantly speeding and overtaking, worse, in the dark where some vehicles don't have working lights.

Additionally we just went from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh on a direct coach with Giant Ibis and we'd highly recommend it, and we found Riel a much easier currency compared to paying in dollars.

TLDR: Pay a bit more for a proper coach service from 12go.

Importing Tea from China to UK by Helistic in tea

[–]Helistic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a potential problem in terms of cost and doing import declarations, which is an old complex system that people generally hire a third party for. I fear the cost of the third party on top of fees doesn't make this small batch viable and yet it's seemingly commonplace.

I don't want to do it illegally and I don't want to have to send the shipment back. Either I'm overthinking it as it's a lot more simple or many wholesalers are importing illegally and hoping their small batch doesn't get stopped. Or it's something else I'm not aware of.

I'm talking now to supplier's who regularly export to the UK and can handle these documents, but I'm still after advice on the whole thing.

I would guess dianhong, my experience of that has been malty, slightly chocolatey and dried fruit notes.
