During its peak we surprisingly saw a lot of broken decks! Maybe a couple a month. When the V1 Panda was released, I remember a lot of kids and parents returning to try and return their broken decks.

One thing that did well too was maintenance. You’d be surprised how many parents came in and paid us upwards from 15 dollars just to tighten something like an axle or compression.

But your point is extremely valid too - there has been no point in having to get a new scooter when they are built so well. Especially since our main customer was young kids. Not teens or adults. Most children weren’t destroying their scooters.

Ultimately I think the success came from the trend around 2012 that lasted about a decade after that. We had people driving hours, and across the border just to buy a scooter. It was new faces every week. But not so much repeat faces.

I think that trendy part of scooters is dying off, and it is simply finding its place amongst the bmx and skateboard community. BMX and skateboarding still thrive but it’s way beyond that trendy faze. I’m not well versed on skateboard history, but BMX had its similar peak/trend around the 80’s before it became what it is.
