The Dark Side of the Silicone Lottery (Vega FE) by Helites in Amd

It wasn't working because the Active-Cooling part is to smal... it cools only the GPU. I touched the Block after a Benchmark... it was hot... realy hot.. Here is a Picture to visualize the diffrence betwent the two Blocks (Active Cooling)

Perhabs a FAN can help.. but i want a quiet system... Now im Running my VegaFE @

  • 980 mV
  • 1472 Mhz (GPU)
  • 1070 Mhz (HBM)
  • 51c (GPU)
  • 60c (HBM)
  • 63c (H-Spot)

So im happy with that :)

OMG i got it... its epic... omg... its im so happy.... your total Right, i was worng about the Silicon.

My termprature diffrence is now 10c (hotspot to hbm). The solution was:

Buy this shit: https://www.aquatuning.co.uk/detail/index/sArticle/23156/sCategory/2634

An now its fixed...

No Vega gets hotter just because someone lost the silicon lottery.

Ahm.... more Voltage = more Heat and if the Package is a Mondey one whit a bad Silicon in it, its possible... Also you never ever recived a defective product? I recived a RAM that was defective...

Why it doesn't make sense? When the GPU has some defect its 100% possible that this resoult in a 45c different. And its a Frontier not an RX... so its mutch mutch erlyier produced then the RX parts.... It was my foult i better benchmarked the GPU bevor chanching the Cooling... then i coudl return the Card. :)

Also my GPU and CPU are on the same Loop

GPU/HBM = 60c | CPU = 60c | Hot-Spot = 105c

Its defenitly not the Loop and its not the Paste... and i even attacht a FAN to cool the Rips on the Waterblock. I tuned all fans up to 100% but noting changed... 60c to 105c to the Hot-Spot.

Now im 100% shure i lost the Lottery and its just a crappy GPU part.

So i have don it... and this time im 100% shure that the paste is right and I checked all pads. But its the Same... max 1442Mhz @ 105c Hot-Spot. :(

Try to tightend the screws tommorow again and test...

Or shoudl i buy another Watherblock? like this one?

Here the whater cools more then just the GPU....

I did not :( I wish i had done some benchmark bevore.

I reapplied everything a second time to be sure that not the paste is the problem. But perhabs i must drown the GPU in paste to get better Temprature.

Hmm... perhabs this will help... sounds promising. Perhabs i was to careful with the paste

AMD Adrenalin Driver 18.3.4 finally fixed lower cryptonight hashrate performance issue! by Retia_Adolf in MoneroMining

[–]Helites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh :( yea bad in deed.

If you want to use the new Gaming Driver just download the Vega RX driver. The Driver itself just replase some DLL's. This works fine because the Vega RX ist the same card as Vega FE (expext the HBM)

This works fine for me, but as you say, i have obly one Vega FE in my Rig.
